For us 80s kids: Get a cassette case for your iPod nano

Cult of Mac turned me on to an awesome iPod nano case manufactured by Contexture Design in Vancouver, BC: it's made from a recycled cassette tape. Radical.

But move fast -- there are only about a dozen left of these one-of-a-kind cases, which fit first- and second-generation iPod nano models. Each case is C$45 (≈US$38) with C$4 shipping. What better accessory for your feathered hair, fringed leather jacket and roller skates when you go all Xanadu for Halloween?

It would be better if they've made one able to insert into the cassette players (like those car cassette adapters)... although I recommend the ipod to be switched to the shuffle mode :P

and, the newest ipod nano could fit, because they're about the same compared to the 1st/2nd gen nanos.

How old are you, Robert? :)

While I know Xanadu was *released* in 1980, it is very much an end-of-an-era 70s movie :)

I know as a teen in the 80s I was NOT sporting gear reminiscent of the "Roller Boogie" era :)

Now, had you said: like mullet, beat it pleather jacket, and maybe, shell toed addias with no laces...or like...anything else past 1982...we'd be with ya :)

Just for you, Kai, I'll disclose that Rose added the sentence about Xanadu. I was ready to stop at "radical" but I guess he was listening to Flock of Seagulls or something and the mood swept him away. ;)

I don't keep up with Broadway much. I'll leave that to the native New Yorkers. :)

You just replaced Mike Lee's "Big Fruit" diminutive for Apple as Kai's Biggest Laugh of the Day :)

I'll make sure to slip a jab in on Rose about this this weekend, heheh.

Ha ha ha! I made iPod cases out of old Sports Walkmen shells in, uh... 2004?

I got a C&D from Sony for my trouble:

Anyway, the fact that you can now fit the iPods inside the TAPES that would have fit into the Walkmen, that's fantastic. I love living in the future!

John, I remember that! Definitely a great idea, pity Sony didn't see it that way. By next year we'll be fitting nanos into MiniDiscs, I'm sure.

Wow, that's an insane amount of money to pay for a cassette tape case.
