Dock Spaces: a different Dock for each Space
With Dock Spaces you can use different Docks to give different Spaces a kind of functional utility. For example, you could put all your office type applications in one Space and all your graphics editing applications in another, etc. It can also make it easier to tell exactly which Space you're presently in.
Dock Spaces is a free download from Patrick Chamelo (donations requested) and naturally requires Leopard.

Is there a utility that will let me have a different wallpaper in each space? Then, combined with this software, I could truly feel like Spaces provides distinct workspaces.

Similar question, is there a way to have completely different desktops for each space? Not just the desktop wallpaper, but also the desktop contents?

I installed this with spaces already on and it jacked up my spaces settings and blew up my dock, had to hard boot. Install with caution.

Man - I really wanted to use Spaces when Leopard first came out, but I wasn't coordinated enough. Maybe I'll give it another shot.

This is an amazing application but maybe this is why Apple never introduced the feature yet. Although it is great, I do not like the lag time between changing docks ( I assume it is constantly reopening the dock app) - gives me a sense of feel that my mac may have crashed :). But I'll try to live with it. Also the hyperspace app is nice, but I think I'll wait until Apple comes out with something, as I do use more than 2 spaces.

What i'd really need would be different WALLPAPERS, to really emotionally distinguish my working-space from my normal and from my gaming-space.
Is that possible?

Use Stacks !!
I have all my frequently used apps in a stack and have QuickSilver for launching apps quickly....
Then you dont need all this stuff....

isn't Quicksilver discontinued/open source/not compatible with Leopard now?
Installed it, after a few minutes I had to hardboot, which sucks a lot. The App doesn't seem to like dock names with / in them, it wouldn't let me select one that I had created that way.
Other than that it's a nice app.
I wish for a schedule to automatically switch between work and leisure spaces/docks!

Is it possible to see 4 different screens instead of 4 blue ones when we do a expos type look ?

Dock Spaces is neat -- but it makes switching spaces feel broken. It's too slow to react. When I switch to an app on a different space -- or just switch to a different space, it should be immediate. Unfortunately Dock Spaces slows this process down and makes it feel funny.
