Apple releases Safari 3.2, including security updates

The latest update to Safari was released earlier this afternoon. According to Software Update, Safari 3.2 "features protection from fraudulent phishing websites and better identification of online businesses." You should also note that this update includes the latest security updates.
You can find exactly what changed with the security update by visiting Apple's support note. You can download this update by opening Software Update (Apple menu > Software Update), or by visiting Apple's support website.
Thanks for the tip, Yazdgerd!

When you visit a secure site that has a special authenticated SSL cert, you get the company's name in green text next to the security lock in the upper-right corner of Safari.

Please explain? Do you have a beta/developer version?
Mason said 6:25PM on 11-13-2008
Yup, its a dev release. Its been out since around August (can't give you an exact date).
I'm kinda surprised the official version is only on 3.2.
It's slightly more crash-prone than the official version, but not by much. And as far as I can tell, my plugins are all good (Glims, Inquisitor, etc.), so you guys should be good for a while.
Here's proof, if you don't believe me:

Beware! My MacBook Pro got stuck on a blue screen (with a spinning wheel that stopped spinning) for a loooong while (like 15 minutes). It came to life on its own afterwards and restarted and everything seems to be fine now. So, do not force a restart, just be patient!

When I ran the update on my iMac, it never restarted. Now when I try and boot it up it runs the shutdown cycle. :,(

Seems to work fine with Inquisitor and PithHelmet extensions.

It keeps crashing on my PowerBook G4 with 10.4 Tiger. It's rubbish, do they issue beta versions now like Microsoft?

Can't say I see any difference in responsiveness. I'm still waiting for that amazing speed shown by the latest Webkit.
Anyone know when Safari 4 is scheduled?

Crashes a ton for me, too. Command-clicking to open a favourite in a new tab almost always ends up in a crash, especially if the current page hasn't finished loading. I'd hold off installing until they patch it. (Macbook 2.4GHz running 10.5.5)

Remove SafariStand, PithHelmet, Inquisitor, AcidSearch and any SIMBL plugins. Many of them need updates or will crash Safari. I had to remove the first three of them.

Crash, crash, crash. But I have an old version of PithHelmet (disabled).
After deleting PithHelmet from /Library/Application Support/SIMBL/Plug-Ins, it seems much more stable.

Sadly, I can't open Safari now. Every time I try to open it, it crashes before the page appears. (I am using FireFox now.) Any ideas on how to fix it?
