Apple releases Safari 3.2, including security updates

The latest update to Safari was released earlier this afternoon. According to Software Update, Safari 3.2 "features protection from fraudulent phishing websites and better identification of online businesses." You should also note that this update includes the latest security updates.

You can find exactly what changed with the security update by visiting Apple's support note. You can download this update by opening Software Update (Apple menu > Software Update), or by visiting Apple's support website.

Thanks for the tip, Yazdgerd!

Help. Any suggestions? Since I did the update for safari v 3.2 everything loads so incredibly slow now. Pages load but not fully. I don't have anything downloaded on my mac. It's pristine and clean. Thanks.

I had the same bad experience as the other Matthew here — Safari would launch, but the moment I attempted to visit a website, it would crash without warning (no "unexpectedly quit" dialog, nothing).

I tried reinstalling Safari and then getting rid of Glims and PithHelmet, to no avail.

Following a tip, I then downloaded the latest nightly build of WebKit. It runs fine without the plug-ins.

I was haveing Uber crashing problems with the new Safari 3.2...

Read the comments here and removed Pithhelmet, now it works great, no crashes.

Losing Pithhelmet does not bother me though I only used it for Machette which does not work on most sites anymore. I use SafariBlock to block advertisements. And I only use that to block the inline text ads.

Contra a comment above, I had crashes that Safari blamed on Pith Helmet. Uninstalled it and things seem snappier. Which is too bad; I liked having the blocking.

Installed it fifteen minutes ago, restarted, and has already crashed thrice while using Gmail. Back to Firefox until Apple gets this piece fixed.

Safari 3.2 does actually fell snappier but I recommend everybody that uses Safari to download WebKit because it will feel 2x faster than Safari 3.2 but cant wait till Apple releases Safari 4 they probably release a Beta to the public before the year end.
