I've been experiancing some major problems with my nano since installing this update. I can only listen to my iPod for a couple of minutes at a time then it starts skipping. I hit a button and it goes back to normal. Very annoying.

Also - maybe the rotate stuff is in 2.2 update for iphone?

Yeah, I hope so. It wouldn't bother me so much if it didn't sometimes get stuck in landscape orientation/coverflow.
I'd also like to be able to lock the screen in landscape during video playback; sometimes I watch BBC iPlayer in bed, lying on my side, and have to be careful to get the angle right and stop it tipping over to portrait.

Yes I agree! Make the mic work with FIRST GEN ipod touches please!

Lots of people bought the 1st Gen iPod Touch! I hope its not hardware, just software.
And i was going to settle for the regular Apple Headphones... :(

It's hardware, there are 4 connectors on the new iPods compared to three on the old ones, I think.

Yes, it's a hardware issue. At least, that's what I remember hearing.

so, since I'm a fan of common sense(and apparently Apple isn't) I'm going to assume that a similar update will be coming for the iPhone. Let's hope apple doesn't fall on it's face with these nice looking pair of headphones like it has with video recording, landscape keyboard in some pretty obvious places and MMS.

Bye bye Cover Flow, see you never. I look forward to being able to adjust the volume without taking it out of my pocket and holding it level.

well that nearly failed. Got halfway through the update and suddenly got the 'improper device removal' dialog (though it was still plugged in). then it spun for a while and gave me an 'unknown error' dialog. iPod froze for a while. Restarted it, went through the update procedure again and it worked. Phew.

Sadly, the update does not fix the random disconnection errors that the nano seems to experience.
