Apple Store Australia posts Apple holiday sale discounts
Thanks to the magic of the International Date Line, it's already Friday in Australia -- hence the early appearance of the Apple Store discounts for the first Friday of the holiday shopping season. The one-day gift discounts are nice but nothing to jump up and down about... the headliner is probably the A$161 off of the 13" MacBook laptop.
We'll keep an eye out for the US numbers and update you on more shopping deals throughout the day today and tomorrow.

Hahaha... I'm using my Santa discount on the TV, PS3/Tivo, and MacBook too! The Santa sales are great each year. Always 100% off! =P

This sale has been a huge disappointment to me here is Australia. How about some decent discounts on Apple products!

i'll never buy from apple again! i just bought the 17" macbook pro, identical spec to the one on the website for $3400! from a reputable ebay seller, fully sealed unit.
i also just bought an imac from bing lee 2 doors away from the apple store i sydney for $1500 as opposed to $1599, it took a little bit of haggling but i basically just said... "look mate, i can buy this imac from ten other stores in sydney for the same price, why should i buy it from you" he then offered me microsoft office at half price, i declinedand asked for money off the imac, and he lowered it! i couldnt believe it, ive never been able to buy apple products at less than the advertised price... times are changing, my ebay seller also says they can get me any other apple product through the store for cheaper than advertised.

Australians really shouldn't have a hard time getting money off Apple computers. If you walk in to a retail store that sells Apple products (Dick Smith Powerhouse, Myer, JB etc) you should be able to get at least $100 off the unit and over $200 on higher end products. Working in one of these stores I see these kind of discounts day in day out. Shop around!
