Concept: the iPod shuffle bracelet

It's almost perfect, and yet weird enough that Apple would never go for it -- they'd much rather make the hardware, and leave the straps and hooks to third-party vendors, I think. Still, it's an interesting idea. What other kinds of jewelry could include the smallest version of "the world's most wearable" mp3 player? A shuffle necklace? Shuffle earrings?
Thanks, Rymon!

This seems pointless and yet brilliant at the same time, somehow -- iPhone Savior has concept pictures of the iPod shuffle extended out...

Eh...Isamu Sanada has been doing mockups for a long time.

All in Japanese, but you came for the shiny pics anyway.
Looks good in pictures but not in practice.
There's no way to tighten the wristband, so it would have to be loose. Now imagine holding the bracelet in place while using the scroll wheel or other controls. How long before that became irritating.
Clip-on music players are more versatile and simpler to build - therefore a better design solution.
OMG it's like a slap bracelet that plays music! My inner child of the 80s wants one!

Hmmmm.... looks oddly familiar to the brand new iPod nano watch from Nike.

November 30 2008 at 8:43 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyI actually like it, and agree it would have to have wireless headphones, but I would like it more if the wheel had a watch face or something so it could double as a watch.
November 30 2008 at 8:26 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyOr if the wheel was like the iPhone display, and would work like a click wheel when you touched it but otherwise displayed the time and song you are listening to. That would be worth the $$$!
November 30 2008 at 8:35 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down Replylooks a lot like the nike+ wristband/watch remote which is also available.
November 30 2008 at 8:04 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyYeah, but then you need to have either an iPod Touch (which in my opinion would defeat the purpose of having a small and discreet mp3 player) or an iPod Nano (which is also too big, especially when you count the dongle it requires to work with Nike+ products).
I love the idea of the Nike+ watch, but the Timex iControl is much more functional as both a remote and watch (the Nike+ Amp has an awful watch display and interface).
