Concept: the iPod shuffle bracelet

It's almost perfect, and yet weird enough that Apple would never go for it -- they'd much rather make the hardware, and leave the straps and hooks to third-party vendors, I think. Still, it's an interesting idea. What other kinds of jewelry could include the smallest version of "the world's most wearable" mp3 player? A shuffle necklace? Shuffle earrings?
Thanks, Rymon!

It would have to have wireless headphones...
I assume the designer knew that when they added the Bluetooth logo.

Exactly...it makes perfect sense until you actually think about using it.

Not very different from the iRiver S10 bracelet, with bluetooth.

Well, it could also have the standard wired earphones... And Bluetooth on an iPod doesn't seem Appleistic...

I'm still wondering why it has a nano scroll wheel on it.

agreed. a scroll wheel and MENU button on something without a screen is pretty useless, suggesting the designer just slapped a round thing on a bracelet without thinking about it much.

How does the flat scroll wheel work on a curved surface?

My watch curves around my entire wrist and has a flat display- most do.

Needs a new control interface, that wheel is absolutely extra there.
Think tribal.

what's the point of a scroll wheel when it has no screen?

I'd like it for faster volume adjustment, the current shuffle requires like a zillion and one clicks to get it from 'listening in a quiet room' level to 'I'm running on the side of the freeway and I don't want it to disturb my music' level.
The menu button is pointless though... they should replace it with a shuffle mode on/off button.

looks a lot like the nike+ wristband/watch remote which is also available.

Yeah, but then you need to have either an iPod Touch (which in my opinion would defeat the purpose of having a small and discreet mp3 player) or an iPod Nano (which is also too big, especially when you count the dongle it requires to work with Nike+ products).
I love the idea of the Nike+ watch, but the Timex iControl is much more functional as both a remote and watch (the Nike+ Amp has an awful watch display and interface).

I actually like it, and agree it would have to have wireless headphones, but I would like it more if the wheel had a watch face or something so it could double as a watch.

Or if the wheel was like the iPhone display, and would work like a click wheel when you touched it but otherwise displayed the time and song you are listening to. That would be worth the $$$!

I would never buy this.
