iRingPro offers "professional" ringtones
Like many of you, I love the convenience and fun of owning a mobile phone. However, I detest loud and obnoxious ring tones, not to mention the disappointment of a great conversation interrupted by an ear-shattering rendition of The Hamster Dance. I'd prefer it if people used their phone's (least annoying) default tone, but I know that some users can't resist fiddling around. Here's hoping those people will check out iRingPro.
Billed as "...smart, attractive, livable alerts," these aren't your nephew's ringtones. Instead, you get a serene but noticeable series of notes that won't elicit strange looks in the board room. Additionally, the pause between repetitions is longer than most, eliminating that sense of "I've got to answers this now!" urgency. There are few samples you can check out on the site, and they're quite nice.
A collection of 21 tones in M4R format will run you $9.95US. Please, if you're the downloading type, consider iRingPro.
Alternatively, you can try your hand at making your own classy tones with GarageBand.

$9.99 dollars when I can make ringtones (and edit them to size too) with iTunes? No thanks!

Color me unimpressed. I expected much more, but instead found overly simple ringtones comprised of just a few tones. I can do that myself for free!

Seems to me like http://macmost.com/iphoneringtones/iphone_ringtones_Zen_Tones.html would work just as well, and with a $0 pricetag -- is even MORE Zennier.

Not the same thing. Not even close....
The fact that someone uses the word "Zen" does not mean that he/she knows what it means. This free collection to which you've linked is Asian, *not* Zen.

Yeah, I'm also unimpressed. The preview ringtones are horrible and there are plenty of free options if you know where to look. Really, $9.99? Good luck.

Compared to the cost of iTunes ringtones or ringtones from service providers, these are pretty cheap. But, I don't think I'd notice that it was my phone ringing.

$10 is pretty steep. I'd probably pay $5 for those, though - it definitely beats those people who blast "Usher" or hearing marimba for the 200th time.

Yay! Please save us from annoying ring "tunes"!!!!! I hate 'em!
These Zen tones are actually not bad. Nice for a CEO or something, and I could see James Bond's nemesis' phone ringing that way. ;)
Myself, I used some of the garage-band provided sound FX to find some nice "techy" tones that are NOT songs but work well for a ring when repeated.
As most have pointed out, you can do a lot for "free" with Garage Band and a little imagination. Still - better a $9 calming tone than a free version of "Bolero"... :P

I don't mean to put anyone down, but why would anyone PAY for a ringtone? There's enough free ones out there, plus if you want something truly your own, you just make it yourself.
I'd compare it to someone paying to use an Internet search engine that works about the same as Google.
I guess I'm just not one of those rich people who don't mind supporting these companies. I guess if someone started a pay-per-use search engine, some people would pay.

Vibrate: the most professional ringtone (and it's free)

When on business trips, I would set my phone to vibrate, stick it in my pocket and have my wife call me and hang up for 20 minutes.
Just kidding!

Thank goodness the iPhone vibrate mode is so nice! Some other smartphones have a vibrate mode that is like an old electric razor!

I understand the "Why not make your own" comments, but you have to realize that there are many people that would have no idea how to make their own ringtones.
Really I like this idea, especially the "I heard you the first time" feature. Sure its a 5 second pause inserted after the tone. But it's a nice feature.

I wonder how much of a cut Mr. Caolo is getting from the company for spam blogs.

Props for the link to a page with the old school Hamster Dance that I remember 10 years ago!

I am selling Solid color backgrounds - Blue, Green, Red
$10.00 will get you one of each color already sized to fit the iPhone. These are professionally done backgrounds and guaranteed to have all pixels in place.
No more annoying photographs to view or embarrass you. Nothing but a beautiful primary color.
Maybe i should reserve the domain iColorPro? Try mixing some Primary colors to get secondary color backgrounds? Wow! who knows where this could lead......

These aren't bad at all and (someone passed this great tip on to me which I can attest to actually working) when you go to checkout, you have to option to pay using TrialPay (trialpay.com) which lets you exchange signing up for a service in return for a free license. I paid using trialpay and signed up for a free 14 day trial of realplayers superpass. I then cancelled my trial and received a free copy. Never billed a cent. I like these a lot and find them much nicer than the usual ringtones I've had/bought in the past, that come with the phone, or that I made myself. That said, I couldn't see paying 9.99 for them.
