Why do people (including Apple and lots of others) use the word "gifted" instead of "given"? Apple has links in iTunes called something like "Gift this." This is appallingly tacky and unnecessary.

gift (gĭft)
n.
1. Something that is bestowed voluntarily and without compensation.
2. The act, right, or power of giving.
3. A talent, endowment, aptitude, or inclination.
tr.v. gift·ed, gift·ing, gifts
1. To present something as a gift to.
2. To endow with.

What's appallingly tacky and unnecessary is pedantic commenters.

You know what really grates on me, besides turning "gift" into a verb when "give" already exists? Busybody hall monitors, that's what. Go file your report.

If you don't want people to react Tom, don't flaunt your ignorance so blatantly. Tony was only trying to help you expand you obviously-limited vocabulary.
Knowledge FTW.

Love the bundle. I bought one myself and one for my nephew for the holidays.

For $50, Drive Genius or RapidWeaver alone are worth the price. iVolume is terrific, too (since Apple's own Sound Check function in iTunes is flaky at times). Perhaps what I like best is the additional offer made by MacPilot author Koingo Software: For $30, you get licenses to every software title currently on their site.

No games though. Thought perhaps there would be one mindlessly fun app in the bundle. Certainly not a deal breaker though.

Yes, I bought it purely for Drive Genius. Now I wish I was able to sell on some of my spare licenses.

Pretty good deal. Drive Genius, and AntiVirus are well worth the admission price - and haven't been included in previous bundles. Default Folder and Little Snitch are excellent too (but are included in almost every bundle -- so this'll be my 3rd copy of each!)
