Mac 101: Drag an entire application from one space to another

To do this, simply launch Spaces (using either a key combo, Dock icon, or menu bar item), then find the application whose windows you wish to move from one Space to another. Command + drag one of the windows, and all of the windows from that application will follow. It's that simple.

This actually also works with Ctrl or Maj.

Shouldn't the title be "Drag All Applications..."? Dragging an "entire application" is just click+drag....no command button needed.

they don't mean one window of the application they mean the entire application i.e. go into firefox or safari and click on file then new window and then follow the instructions you will find that you will only drag one window if you do not hold command but drag both/all at once if you do that is what they mean

This tip will probably be handy for anyone using Mac Office 2008 since it still doesn't work correctly with spaces.

Yeah, what's the deal with that? It's made space unusable when I'm using Office because if I switch from space to space, the Toolbox ends up in the space I switched to. Stupid.

There's a cogent explanation of the Spaces/Office conflict here:

Spaces is really good for multi-tasking... But I keep forgetting which app is in which space... Will take time to get used to it....

I use Spaces religiously, but I have a problem keeping them in their damn spaces! Sometimes when I quickly change between Spaces (CTRL+arrow button), the application moves with me, when I do not want it to. Any help with this? Thanks.

Given some of the "quirky" behaviors that various applications exhibit when Spaces is enabled, I often want to toggle Spaces on and off.
I keep the menu bar display for Spaces on, but the only quick way I have found to enable/disable it is to go in to System Preferences and check/uncheck the "Enable Spaces" setting in the "Exposé and Spaces" panel.
Has anyone found a quicker way to do this, by any chance?
Thanks.

I just recently found out by accident that if you drag a window to the edge of the screen and pause a second, it will drag that window into the neighboring space on that side of the screen.
Dunno if that was obvious to everyone, but it wasn't to me, and I do that all the time now. Fewer clicks/key presses than invoking spaces to move windows around.
