Cash-In on New Year's App Store deals
Update: most of these deals end soon, so act fast in order to get them! Some iPhone developers have come together to offer you discounts on their App Store applications, just in time for the New Year. The New Year's App Blowout hopes to spread some "holiday cheer" by offering some discounts on iPhone apps.
Some of the apps being offered up at a discount include:
- ScribBall
- Car Care
- DuckDuckDuck
- Mouse House
- Trivial
- Trivial History
- Trivial Movies
- Pop Culture
- and others
Thanks to Kyle Richter for the information.

these posts are a complete waste of time. are you prostituting yourselves, or what? the people want to know.

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

Why is a post offering a relevant discount a "complete waste of time"?
Odineye said 7:50AM on 1-02-2009
@m - on the contrary, information like this - new apps, reduced prices, updates to software, etc - are exactly why I read TUAW.

Complete waste of time. These apps are not free/reduced outside the US. The discounts only apply to the US App store.

Some of them are reduced and some of the reductions are finished like it says at the top of the article. Wristpop coin toss is still free in the UK for example. Just look at the page linked to in th article and search for the apps you like in the app store. The ACT apps are no longer on sale in the UK.

That webpage could be so much more useful---maybe categorize the apps, perhaps add a line or two of quick introduction to the app. But no, it replicates all the flaws of browsing in the App Store itself, and seems to expect me to click multiple times in and out of iTunes if I want to find out more.
Marketing concept fine, execution not so great.

Too bad, the ACTSudoku application, the only one that looked interesting to me, is listed for free on the blowout page but is $1.99 on the app store.
It'd be nice to see these post *before* the sale, not the day *after* the sale ends.

Yeah, bad site TUAW. The free ones aren't free (well, one of them might be, it said wasn't available in the US store).
