2009 Macworld Keynote video available

As usual, Apple has released a Quicktime video of the keynote address from this year's Macworld Expo. This one's rather historic, as well all know. It's simultaneously Phil Schiller's first and Apple's last.

Right now it's available as a stream from Apple's website, but it typically shows up in the iTunes Store as a free download shortly thereafter. Be sure to grab a copy and "own a piece of history" as they say. Whoever "they" are.

So, what did you think of this year's presentation? We think Phil did a great job and was greeted warmly by the crowd. Sure, a little bit of fanfare would have been nice, but that was Tony Bennet's role, right?

I can't seem to get to the real site to say this but has anyone noticed that the iTunes music store now works over the EDGE/3G networks? Not just the podcasts all the music is avaiable to download too.

I like some the features shown with the new ILife, but to be honest IMovie has my eyebrow raised. They didn't show us anything about exporting to DVD or evening put it on the internet, yet they have these new themes which can be place directly in the movie. Their is slow-mo and the video stabilization thing which is cool, but all of these things are done without ever rendering the video...so what happens if I try to put this on a DVD and give to my family. The degradation from IMovie 08 to IDvd was so bad I switched back to IMovie HD, plus in the IMovie 09 demo video on the apple website they only talk about showing the movie in full screen via your mac not from a TV and not exporting to the internet or DVD which makes me wonder just how well these new "features" would work outside of the IMovie 09 environment.

Did Phil seem nervous and a little jittery to anyone else? I thought so and was quite surprised as he has done lots of PR and MacWorld bits in the past and is far from new to public speaking to that size of audience.

I wonder if he was just not as prepared as he would have liked. I've read that Stevo preps for weeks getting ready for MacWorld. Not knowing your material down cold can sometimes lead to nervousness. Perhaps Phil was handed this notice a little later than he would have liked.

I'd loved to have heard something, *anything* about Snow Leopard. The end of DRM is a good thing, I liked some of the iPhoto features very much but I wonder who these days is in the market for a 2799 dollar laptop.

And the 50 dollar 'anti-glare' option is both an admission that glossy isn't for everybody and one barefaced, stunning piece of marketing: make a quick buck on a problem you yourself created.

And that's the end of that chapter.

That video might be the most worthless one on the Internet.
