Macworld 2009: IPEVO shows off photo frames and more

Peripheral vendor IPEVO may have just dipped a toe in the Mac market last year with compatible iChat and Skype speakerphone devices, but it looks like a full-court press coming from them in 2009. At Macworld Expo, IPEVO is showing a full suite of audio (conference phones, handsets and more for VoIP services and iChat), video (a slimline camera) and especially photos -- the upcoming Kaleida digital frames, showing here and at CES, look remarkably good.
The wired and wireless frames, expected to ship in March under the $200 price point, allow for photo offloads from memory cards or from the Mac, subscription to Flickr or RSS feeds, and selected Google widgets (weather, calendar, news or financial data), all on a bright 7" screen. You can control the displayed content from your computer, or via a handy iPhone app.
We took a brief photo and video tour of the new products in the Dr. Bott vendor pavilion. Enjoy!

I don't see how this is Apple related?

Well, they are exhibiting at Macworld. We're at Macworld. We're covering Macworld. We're covering exhibitors at Macworld. We don't just cover objects from Apple.
Also, their camera got Mac drivers and they have an iChat speakerphone. Does that work for you?

well... being that it is stated to pull photos off of the Mac... would give it enough now wouldn't it. :P

Nah. Still waiting on a photo frame that syncs wirelessly to MobileMe and iPhoto.
A WiFi photo frame that updated to MobileMe would be great for my mom. Just link it to as many photo albums as you like via the iPhoto provided links (http://gallery.mac.com/johndoe/10100) and it stays synced. Then my sister and I could keep my mom up to date with current grandkid photos. I know similar services already exist, but I already pay for a family MobileMe and iPhoto makes maintaining an gallery a cinch.
If anyone knows a digital photo album that keeps updated with MobileMe, please - do tell.

Hi Sheldon --
The IPEVO frame supports RSS feeds for photos, as does MobileMe -- in fact the PhotoVu frames already use this feature:

I've been looking to replicate something like the pictures shown on these photo frames but on an old laptop. Does anyone know of any software that will run full screen that allows for photos, weather widgets, etc. on either a Mac or a PC that isn't Dashboard?

What weather widget is displayed on the frame in the photo? Looks good!

The Kaleido does sync with iPhoto. It does RSS feed too, so you can tap into Mobileme that way. The widget displayed is Google widgets - you can do weather, but also news, stocks, calendar, etc.
BTW - whoever posted the photovu - your products are $900.... calling it a "premum photo frame" doesn't exactly consider such a price gap. How does that relate to a well-designed, ubiquitous $199 frame?
