Farewell, Macworld Expo 2009

The show floor has closed, the press room is wrapping up, and the denizens of Macworld Expo are heading out to points unknown -- some to the Crunchies tonight, most to the airports or back home (East Coasters, if you're leaving tomorrow, call your airlines). We've had a spectacular time bringing you the sights and sounds of Macworld Expo 2009, and there will be more booth videos and product rundowns to come over the next few days.

We want to extend our thanks to the entire team at IDG that works incredibly hard to put on this show for all of us; of course, next year's show is going to be a different experience, but if you're planning to join us for the 2010 Expo, Macworldbound.com is reporting that you can register for an exhibits-only pass already. Can't wait!

@huth.sebastian: What are you smoking, man? Whatever it is, better lay off the stuff for awhile. Your head just flew out the window, and you didn't even see it go.

Macworld 2009. I'll never forget it. I'll never forget that was where I got food poisoning and had my luggage stolen out of the rental car trunk.

I have to say that I was a bit disappointed like everyone but not surprised. The new Mac minis will be announced at the end of the first quarter as well as the new Mac Pros. The new iPhone will keep with tradition at Apple and come out with its new version later this year in June. I hope you guys can all wait because these products will be coooool!

Maybe I'll go next year. I've always thought it might be fun. I happen to live in Sacramento, so it would only be about two hours to get there.

The photo makes it look like that guy is holding the billboard on his back.

Yeah really! I don't see any way that that billboard is really being held up off the ground the way it is. Maybe Steve Job's [and Phil Schiller's] keynotes really are magical...

Windows OS 7 just stole the show, since Apple leaves very little new product info this year.

Damn, I guess that's the end. The entire purpose of this Macworld was to distract customers from how sucky Leopard really is and keep them from switching to the new Windows 7, it could last exactly 3 days, now everything is lost, people are just desperately running away from the crap Apple calls an OS, all over to Windows.

Or not. Really, as "good" as W7 may be, I'll always laugh at Microsoft, they're just a bunch of geeks and dorks, putting all their energy in trying to keep Users from switching to Macs by trying to imitate Apple, instead of just doing their own thing, thinking on their own what's good, what could work, they're just trying to do whatever Apple does.

That's an extremely stupid thing to say.
Microsoft is a HUGE company who has and still does dominate as far as wide spread use goes.
So when they lose a people over a mishap and try to fix it it's stupid of them?
I LOVE Apple and OS X but grew up on Windows operating systems.
Both have advantages for certain tasks but to each their own.
Troll else ware, ass.

New Macs should be announced later this year. Apple should continue to spread its product announcements through out the year so it doesn't have to prematurely announce products and to keep its stock price up.
