Talkcast tonight, 10 p.m. ET: The 'let's hope the Super Bowl is over by then' episode
Last week, my friends Steve Sande and Megan Lavey joined me for an erudite discussion over drinks about the White House's tech woes, the iWork trojan making its rounds, and our favorite Mac memories. Feel absolutely free to download the show from Talkshoe or subscribe in iTunes.
This week, hopefully, the Super Bowl will be done and dusted before 10 Eastern, so we can recap the news of the week and take your calls! We plan on covering more tips for keeping your data safe, and talking about the pros and cons of renewing your MobileMe subscription. Come prepared with your questions, comments and ideas, and we'll put them on the air!
To participate on TalkShoe, you can use the browser-only client, or you can also use the classic TalkShoe Pro Java client; however, for maximum fun, you should call in. For the web UI, just click the "TalkShoe Web" button on our profile page at 10 pm Sunday. To call in on regular phone or VOIP lines (take advantange of your free cellphone weekend minutes if you like): dial (724) 444-7444 and enter our talkcast ID, 45077 -- during the call, you can request to talk by keying in *-8. Talk with you then!

I'd like to see the topic of App Store app-cracking, as reported by 9to5Mac:
http://9to5mac.com/crackulous
C'mon...the apps are all pretty reasonably priced...you must be REALLY CHEAP to go this far. Granted a "try before you buy" option would be greatly desired, but does that really make sense for 99-cent apps?

No, not really. I understand they're very exciting, though, with all the horses and those long hammers they use to knock the ball around with.
Who's the starting pitcher for the game, anyway? And the tip-off time is when?

"iWork trojan making it's rounds"
Um... I don't think I would call infecting pirates' computers as being "making rounds". Maybe "giving them what they deserve" is more fitting. Not that I want to pass judgement on people who pirate software though...

Back to the MobileMe thing....
Seriously for only $5.99/mo. InfTek, Inc. really has a great service for the price. So exchange like it's scary. Push to mobile devices is flawless and it's business class to boot! Use Apple Mail, Entourage, Outlook, iCal and others.
Try the Hosted Kerio MailServer services at:

you will love it.

There was a brief digression related to the music industry and how their greed and arrogance led them to a Bad Place. I haven't read it yet, but I came across this recently-released book on the subject:
Appetite for Self Destruction: The Spectacular Crash of the Record Industry in the Digital Age
by Steve Knopper
Amazon link: http://tinyurl.com/awobvo
I came across it due to an interview with the author on a CBC podcast. Link to the podcast episode of the interview (17min):

After listening to the interview, the book is on my 'get it' list.
Just FYI and all...
