Mac OS 10.5.7 update now available

Apple just dropped 10.5.7 on us (a little late by some guesses), via Software Update (you can get to it under the Apple menu). Here's the blurb:

The 10.5.7 Update is recommended for Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard and includes general operating system fixes that enhance the stability, compatibility and security of your Mac. For detailed information about security updates, please visit this website.

I notice a lot of sync-related "reliability" fixes here, some nice additions to the parental controls, a Gmail login fix, and widget updates (yeah, some people use those). Full details here. Enjoy!

Updated Mac Mini connected to Philips LCD (eyetv) tv and all the resolutions are up the wall. The menu bar is offscreen, same with the dock. Resolution that used to be used is no longer available and through TV menu - the choices are greyed out.

Me thinks they should have tested this a bit better - many more complaints on the Apple forums!

When I put my computer to sleep, it goes into a coma.

i have the 2008 15inch MBP (last MacBook Pro before uni-body), did the install through the web-site (cause of the auto update glich - "digital signature..."). Downloaded a 700mb and change update, now when that computer sleeps or i log off.............a forced restart is needed to wake it from its slumber.

Anyone know how to correct this....?

This update was smooth. My i7 920 hackintosh is rocking; the ATI Radeon HD 4850 is now supported natively!

Some things I've noticed:

The display preferences has brightness control now.

My one didn't change the light bulb (macbook late 2006 core2duo 2.0).

iCal is 3.0.7 now, build 1284. It was 3.0.6. Still doesn't fix the webdav friggin' behavior (see my question at the last ask tuaw).

Screen saver properties has a "quick access corners" or something that I didn't notice before. Oh, and it doesn't work, so anyway.

Quicklook seems faster. So does finder.

The cpu runs 2 or 3 degrees cooler than before. It must be me.

It still recognizes 4gb ram, but also still uses only 3.

I installed the update this afternoon (through the download/update method rather than through Software Update). Went perfectly, 1 reboot and all good on my 13" MBP Unibody.

Knock on wood, it seems to have (finally) resolved the issue where my external HD (WD MyBook) that I use for Time Machine kept disappearing from the desktop. So far it's been there all day and keeps backing up. If this is the only result of the update, I'm a MEGA happy camper.

Do you use your external HD wirelessly? Or via Firewire.

It's attached by USB. Disappeared overnight. Oh well.

call me crazy, but i think i've discovered a new feature: quicklook now reads .flv files! also, the finder displays a preview for them on the desktop (or in a folder of course). previously, they displayed as generic, white documents.

Last night I downloaded directly from apple's update site (not via software update), installed without issue (it auto rebooted an extra time). Then did the Safari Beta update right afterwards.

All I can say is Wow! Everything seems signficantly faster, smoother. I'd chalked up recent sluggish performance to running so much stuff simultaneously (XP under fusion, Postgres, MS Office, multiple instances of SQL and IDE's), but since installing this last night and running this morning, I'm really really happy.

(late '07 MacBook Pro, 4Gig)

Just noticed a difference. Go to your system settings and check the icon for energy options, it's an energy saving light bulb now. Wow. Amazing.
