The "elimination" one made me crack up. Good idea on Apples part not to attack it directly, more of a "You might have noticed..." thing. The Windows commercials were sneaky, and these are the truth. Just another thing that Apple succeeds at while Microsoft keeps going down and down...

You can see them cracking up in the middle of PC Choice Chat. Those sound effects are hilarious.

Interesting.
A direct (but, oblique) response to Microsoft's recent adverts.
Funny, as usual.
Some very talented people at Chiat-Day.

mac user, however, no system is completely safe, and the elimination ad clearly tells new customers that there are no viruses or malware for the mac... blatant lie...

Link to a Mac virus and I'll let it install on my Mac.
PalmerDeville said 11:55PM on 5-12-2009
I don't think the ad clearly states that there are no viruses or crashes for Mac. All the PCs simply left suggesting that they are clearly not virus and crash free. PC then says "She's all yours Mac." Then Mac introduces himself.
Neither Mac nor PC state that Mac is virus free; but yes, the suggestion is there. No blatant lie.

@Greenie: Your definition of Virus may vary, but I'd like to assume for a second that a trojan is a virus in the large sense: http://www.tuaw.com/2009/04/23/pirated-iwork-contains-botnet-trojan-breaks-hearts/

Honestly, I don't know any other computer manufacturer that has real humans located in most major cities that'll let you talk to them and actually LOOK at your computer FOR FREE!
Prices be damned, customer service is what makes a Mac so great.

You're right, something's up with the ajax that keeps the tray from filling up with ads. However, you can still get the links to the ads by checking the RSS-feed on the page.
The new ads are:
http://www.apple.com/getamac/ads/#customercare
http://www.apple.com/getamac/ads/#elimination
http://www.apple.com/getamac/ads/#biohazardsuit
Kento Ito said 12:36AM on 5-13-2009
It seems like the whole ajax is having issue with the new Safari 4 build, along with Mac OS 10.5.7 update.
I think this might be the reason why Apple has delayed the release of this update for so long, so the problem is not as severe.
Sheynberg said 1:49AM on 5-13-2009
@Kento Ito:
It's not a client side problem, I haven't even upgraded to 10.5.7 yet. I've tested it on the Dark Side as well (Windows 7) with Safari, IE8, and Firefox -- all with the same result.

Belly laugh with the "Elimination" one! I was wondering when they were going to strike back because of the "laptop hunter" ads.
Well done.

"Hi, how are ya."
"Good!"
"I'm a Mac."
"I'm a Megan."
That made me smile, it was so cute. Do I detect a dig at MS' "I'm a PC" ads as well with that last line? :)

Yeah, the 'I'm a Megan' line was a crack up.
PalmerDeville said 12:32AM on 5-13-2009
"I'm a Megan." Good catch.
Since Microsoft missed the fact that the actors are saying they are actually the computers, they ended up turning all their customers into generic zombies.
Apple is reclaiming their original idea when Megan says, "Hi, I'm a unique individual."
adam said 12:56AM on 5-13-2009
Yeah, the "I am a megan" was a good touch. People have forgotten that the Mac and PC are personifications of computers not their (stereo)typical users. Besides, I would never identify myself by the operating system I use.
