iPhone artists: paint your way to $500 in the Pogo Stylus art contest
Ten One Design is holding an art contest through July 1st, 2009. The rules are simple; you must use a Pogo Stylus to create a work of art on an iPhone or iPod touch. You can use whatever software you desire, although most of the artwork seen below was created with the help of Brushes [App Store]. The winner will have $500 paid to his or her PayPal account.

Can this be purchased at local retailers or does the stylus have to be ordered online?

On Pogo's website : "The tip's high-tech material makes it unique in its ability to function with iPhone's multi-touch display.", so what is that mysterious "material" anyway?
Also, I presume some artists had sharp their Pogo's in order to get those fine lines?

the fine lines can be achieved painting with a small brush while zoomed in.
you wouldn't be able to do such fine lines with the finger at the highest zoom factor though, which is how you can tell it has been done with a stylus.

You can do the same thing and cheaper using an exacto knife's end ...please remove the blade. But one day I discovered this by accident and it's actually very accurate...and much cheaper.

Will Wacom pens work on the iPhone/iPod touch? The problem I have with the Pogo is it looks too thin for a good grip; the Wacom pen has a bigger more comfortable grip.

My Wacom stylus does not write on my iPod. Nice thought to try it, though. I'm trying to *resist* getting a stylus -- I really *like* the intuitive feel of finger-painting.
