Mac Bundle Box is back, this time with 12 applications for US$49

It's back again, and Mac Bundle Box 5 is now underway with about US$459 worth of software selling for US$49. There are a couple of changes from the last time, though -- this time, the list of applications is different, and now Charity:Water is going to get 10% of the proceeds. According to Christian Owens from Mac Bundle Box, the last bundle raised almost $7,000 for this great charity, which works to bring clean water to people worldwide.
So, what does your $49 buy?
All of the applications listed here have free trial downloads available, so you can give 'em a try before you buy the bundle. As with all bundles, Mac Bundle Box 5 won't last for long, so act soon.

Wow. The only app I might have purchased on my own was DaisyDisk or Web2Delight... and if I do that, I only spend $39.90 (saving $5.10).
Heh.

They promiesed licenses on July 31st for Amnesia app to all who pre-registered and have failed to deliver to me and others. Some people in Macheist forums call the organizer dishonest from past experience.
He is busy tweeting his great exposure ... and ignoring service .
I will avoid this bundle

I think you're right calling them (Owens) scammers. New info on the Amnesia situation from the app's developer:
"MacBundleBox Promotion Correction
Monday, August 3rd, 2009
Unfortunately, due to a recent miscommunication between Koingo Software and MacBundleBox, visitors to MacBundleBox were wrongly informed that signing up to their newsletter would grant them a free copy of Amnesia."

I bought the last MacHeist bundle and after playing World of Goo for about 20 minutes, I havent used any of the apps since.
These bundles are like coupons - unless you were planning to pay $50 for some combination of these apps anyway, they don't have much value.

I use a ton of apps from the last MacHeist bundle still... it was a great deal. Not so sure about this bundle though. I'll probably pass.

I really could use some of these apps, but the quality of the bundle just seems lacking..I think I might pass on this as well..

http://www.softpress.com/ (Freeway Express) site is down. Wanted to read about it. Not a good sign. Does not inspire confidence in them.

The only app in here that might make it worth it for me is iBank, I was thinking about getting some sort of finance software. Anyone have experience with iBank, is it any good compared to other choices for Mac? The existence of an iPod Touch app that can sync with it is a definite plus.

you should check out the previous tuaw post: http://www.tuaw.com/2009/07/27/ibank-provides-yet-another-reason-to-dump-quicken-for-mac/ Comments provide other options too.
I think this MacBundle Box has BUYER BEWARE written all over it.
Note! MacBundle Box is not Macheist.
nor hosted by anyone affiliated, despite the close association due to it being a bundle and the very similar font they are using.

Not only is the bundle full of pathetic apps, the site is outrageous. Almost impossible to read the text and the thumbnails are full size jpg sized down with html img tags. Whoever made that site needs smacked.

You would have had me if it was Jumsoft's Numbers templates.

Is it just my system, or is that the most visually inaccessible Web page around? Who's the marketing genius that decided to put gray on gray. At least OSX helps us low vision folk make the unreadable readable.
Oh, as for the package, I'll pass on this one.

anyone used XHub at all? this is the first i've heard of it, & i can't find reviews on TUAW, or (recent) write-ups on other Mac sites .
if this is actually like a Boxee-with-eyeTV-support, it might be worthwhile. ... then again, if it's half as buggy as Boxee, it's probably not worth the $$$.
