Is a recording available anywhere online yet?
Tried the QuickTime Guide, it has WWDC '09 up there, but no sign of todays event.
What a shame Steve Jobs return was wasted on such a lackluster event. Sorry Apple, no more money from me this year.

Useful for those of us downloading these big files on our high speed office connections instead of from home.
Do a Google search pick the process you're comfortable with. Here's what I found:

I just want to share my opinion, but I thought the reporting today by the TUAW was awful in the fullest sense of the word. Most of the time I couldn't decipher what was actually being said as opposed to what the side comments were. I couldn't finish reading it, I stopped after 30 minutes, just really, really disappointing coverage.

September 09 2009 at 2:51 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyExpensive? Yes and no. It's still cheaper than adding a 24 month contract cost. Bottom line: If you want a camera in an iPod Touch bad enough, the cost isn't that prohibitive.
September 09 2009 at 2:41 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyAlso, I forgot to mention but the added features of using an iPhone 3GS as an iPod Touch is more advantageous. You get a GPS chip, a built in microphone, a video camera, a compass and increased performance.
It would have been nice for Apple to add a camera and mic to the new iPod Touch (I think they did increase it's performance spec.) but since they didn't there is a work around with more features: iPhone 3GS (without a phone contract).
Why can't you get him an iPhone 3GS without a phone contract. He can then use it as an iPod Touch with camera plus more. Later if he likes it he can add the phone contract.
September 09 2009 at 2:32 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyiPhone without a contract is really gosh-durned expensive, isn't it?
September 09 2009 at 2:34 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyWell, that's a little more than I wanted to pay and I was afraid there might be difficulties I haven't anticipated with that option. But I do need to consider that, definitely. How do you go about buying an iPhone without a plan? Ebay? I don't think you can do it at apple.com, it only asks me if I'm a new or existing AT&T customer...
September 09 2009 at 2:40 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyLooks to me like the 16 and 32 Gb touches support a microphone!
September 09 2009 at 2:30 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyWhat makes you say that?
September 09 2009 at 2:32 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down Reply3.1 Update for Iphone/Itouch is live.
September 09 2009 at 2:30 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyJobs is now doing what he complained that the record companies were doing with music rights: artificially controlling their market to make it so that people can't do what they really want to.
The Touch is our most popular model, so let's cripple it!
Apple is changing for the worse.
Worst Apple Event ever and a turning point for a company that used to be interested only in creating great products.
