Adobe introduces Photoshop Elements 8 for Mac
From what some consider to be a neglected product for Mac, Adobe today announced that it will be releasing Photoshop Elements 8 for Mac. This update brings some helpful and handy new features, most notably features that merge photos to improve light exposure or quality. Also, it improved photo resizing, adds new touch-up options, and includes some new artwork templates. If you're a causal photographer looking for an easy and straightforward photo editing solution, this is something you might want to try out.Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 for Mac will be available in October 2009 for about $99.99, and is available for pre-order from Adobe or Apple.

I wonder how much Omniture /Track/Spyware will be in this version?
Seriously folks. You're on a Mac, and Acorn is better/cheaper.
..and the 'merge photos' thing is HDR, much better done by Enfuse.
C'mon TUAW, please spare us the copy/paste when we can read such tripe directly from Adobe.com.

Acorn. Heh. You're kidding, right? My only guess is you work for one of the failed wannabe companies you rattled off.

Hmm, wonder if PS/E 8 will FINALLY have red-eye correction presets for cats and dogs. It's so annoying not to have this useful feature. I keep wishing that Corel would bring out a Mac version of Paint Shop Pro (which had Cat presets for red-eye correction approximately 5 years ago .... it's the only Windoze app I miss since switching).

One thing's for certain, Adobe is working much harder on keeping their media apps more current than Apple. WHERE THE F IS APERTURE 3?
