CoverSutra updated to be faster and Snow Leopard compatible

But maybe with newly released version 2.2 they'll have fixed that problem -- not only have they made the app fully compatible with Snow Leopard and iTunes 9, but they've beefed up performance, taking advantage of all available CPU cores and, they say, dramatically loading album artwork and searching music faster. I haven't tried it yet, but if you've had the same problems with CoverSutra I have, it's worth picking up the new version and testing it out. 2.2 is of course a free upgrade to current users, and the app itself is available for $19.95.

Wow! This is the exact kind of crap "reporting" TUAW is becoming known for.
"Maybe this is fixed… I haven't tried it yet." Then you really don't know anything and have nothing to offer. Why not just post a link to Sophie's site with a note: "CoverSutra updated…" This is sloppy and unprofessional.
Wait a second, I think I have it figured out… you guys get paid per post, don't you?! Piece-rate reportage… too funny. (If not, they why post this at all??)

And you missed the real funny part, about taking advantage of all processor cores...
So on a Mac pro, each core draws a quarter of each cover, and the jewel case is taken care of by the second processor.
Brilliant ! :-D

Why pay when you can get Bowtie which does the same thing but better IMO for free.

Far as I know, BowTie doesn't do search, am I right? I guess it's just a matter of preference as well, I personally never felt that BowTie was very useful (I guess because of no search/browse, and the skinnable UI isn't really my thing). CoverSutra is the only iTunes controller I'd consider using these days, but at the same time I haven't actually bought it yet, so…

You can search in Bowtie. http://shrt.nl/snaps/Bowtie.png

Well, color me wrong then! It has been a while since I used it. I still stand by my whole preference/opinion/blahblah point though. Apologies for the misinfo!

Agree, Bowtie kicks ass, for free!

Bowtie is vaporware. Hasn't seen an update in almost a year.

I think you mean Abandonware. Vaporware is something that doesn't exist or never made it to market.

Yes I really like Ecoute as well, but I use both apps. The big benefit of Ecoute is that it does not require to have the missive iTunes.app running in the background.

+1 for Ecoute. You can save system resources by not having to run iTunes.

"dramatically loading album artwork and searching music faster"
Is it crying while it does it or what? XD
Maybe "loading album artwork and searching music dramatically faster" is better.

Amazing remark. I love the criticism from the Peanut Gallery via comments.
