New iMac, Mac mini, MacBook ads spotted
As we and others have posted over the past few days, there is a rumor that a new or redesigned iMac, Mac mini and MacBook models are coming very soon. Now, this week brings reports of Google ads supposedly touting the rumored Mac mini, iMac and MacBook models. These ads have been spotted in several European countries, in Dutch and in a few other languages. They read as follows:"Apple's Nieuwste MacBook®"
"store.apple.com/nl/macbook Dunner, lichter en krachtiger! Gratis bezorging. Bestel vandaag."
Which translates to:
"Apple's Newest MacBook ®"
"store.apple.com/nl/macbook Thinner, lighter and stronger! Free delivery. Order today. "
"Apple Store: New iMac"
"store.apple.com/nl-store Ultradunne 20 & 24 inch modellen. Vanaf slechts €1099. Apple Store"
Which translates to:
"Apple Store: New iMac"
"store.apple.com/nl-store Ultra thin 20 & 24 inch models. From only € 1099. Apple Store"
"Apple's Nieuwe Mac mini"
store.apple.com/nl-store Sneller en betaalbaarder dan ooit. Vanaf slechts €499. Bestel meeten."
Which translates to:
"Apple's new Mac mini '
store.apple.com/nl-store faster and more affordable than ever. From only € 499. Buy assay. "
Again, this points to yet more reasons why there could be new iMac, Mac mini and MacBook models coming soon. These new models are expected to be released before October 9th, so keep a look out.

I heard that Apple may be switching to Intel processors at some point. Can anyone confirm or deny?

TUAW should rename themselves "BLTN" (Better Late Than Never)

Oh man, that's so awesome that you guys saw it elsewhere first. If I were you I'd be covered in spooge from all the celebratory fapping.
Keep patrolling those internets, we'd be lost without you!

@THJ:
I hope you don't use spooge and fapping and other misguided words with your kid (or that kid, or any kid for that matter).
Also i wish you good luck in your weight loss.
Also im not sure if you are a guy or a girl. Im guessing guy, just cause a guy being caught as a girl is funny, and because if you really turn out to be a girl, then you are just that ugly of a girl.
kudos!

@ Sabi: You ASSUME that's his kid. 0_o

Wait, Snow Leopard is out?!

Google Ads as a news source. Great, cause they've also told me such prescient gems as "Barack Obama is the Antichrist" and "You could lose 40 lbs. while sitting on your couch!"

My thoughts exactly!

Wow. Did you also know there is an iPod out now that plays video?
What is up with TUAW lately. You guys are sometimes 5 days later in reporting things. TUAW is by far my favorite apple site but something weird has been going on lately with you guys reporting things that are extremely old.

A new search for 'Mac Mini' shows up the Dutch ad with a price of €599, so I guess it was just an error. Nothing for you to see here -- please move along.

Impressively slow TUAW. Quite probably a record.
I'm sure some people haven't seen these, and I'm sure they'll defend TUAW below, but really...

In this context the Dutch word 'krachtiger' should be translated to 'more powerful' - which generally means faster when talking about computers - not 'stronger'.

Yup, it's always been Apple's modus operandi to release new products in Denmark first. It's the bellwether of consumer electronics, I heard. *Rolls eyes*
Honestly, I don't doubt that at least the iMac will get some under the hood tweaks for the holiday season, but, to me, a iMac redesign, especially since, as you guy pontificate here, it's going to come with a MacBook redesign, would deserve a special event of some kind. The tag lines you site sound like the same ones to ballyhoo the last redesigns. And the $499 Mini could point to a refurb, something I've seen Google Ads do.

@Wheels: Just for the record, you know Dutch isn't spoken in Denmark right?
It's mainly spoken in The Netherlands and the Flemish part of Belgium.

@Johan: This is TUAW here. Since when do facts matter? ... and thanks for the heads up. I can admit when I'm wrong...

Doesn't the fact that all of the product release dates being keyed around a Friday seem at all wonky to anyone?
No way Apple is going to bury the news, that's why they always release stuff early in the week.

The final sentence in the Mac Mini ad, given as "Bestel meeten" and translated as the mysterious instruction "Buy assay" should probably be "Bestel meteen" - "Order immediately".

i saw what looked like a new imac on a program on discovery channel (or wsa it history? not sure).. there was no j leno chin but it wasnt like an apple display either. it looked like it had a white plastic shell...the L shaped aluminum stand is gone and it was more like a photo frame...i went thru previous models (eventhough i was pretty sure there wasnt any like this before) to see if any thing was made by apple that looked like it... cant wait for the new one..
