Unboxing... an Apple job offer

This is exactly the kind of thing we love to see here at TUAW (and thanks for sending it along, Danny) -- Glyph of the Twisted project got a job offer from Apple last week, and over on his blog, he posts a set of unboxing pics. Which might sound silly (an unboxing for a new hire packet?), but when you're talking about Apple, it's worth it. It turns out they put nearly as much thought into the design of their paperwork as they do into the rest of their projects. From the iconic folder to the way it's organized, designed, and laid out, getting a job offer from Apple isn't just super exciting, it's apparently a thing of beauty.

To tell the truth, we half expected him to turn the folder over and see the words "Designed by Apple in California." Good luck to Glyph with his job, and it warms our hearts here as Apple fans at TUAW to see that something the company never expected to be shown to the public was assembled with such care and thought.

Yeah, down already. Not surprising. I remember being told in Cupertino, "even the length of your training is confidential" I got this type of packet for my Genius position, high quality stuff I remember thinking. I agree w/ poster above, retail is abrasive but at least my store is a freestanding bldg, it makes a definite difference compared to mall life.

Now if we could get apple to apply the same thoroughness to the products that are inside their boxes, that would be a thing of beauty.

Reminds me of when I got hired at Disneyland a bit, but this has less "colorful" paperwork. It is what I'd expect if I was hired by Apple, however. Pretty neat.

What a fantastically stupid way to lose your job before you've even started. There is a good reason why people don't post things like this on their blogs.

it's quite obvious that many of the commentors havent even bothered to go to the guys blog and you'd have seen that he's been given the ok also what does he reveal absolutely nothing. To be honest it's not news worthy but it's all the ppl who haven't looked at his blog but chip in with their 2 cents worth of rubbish.

My offer for a Mac Genius gig came in the mail like that... but if you are thinking about working at an Apple retail store they pay DICK.

I was making $38/k and was told that it was on the high end... I left and instantly got a 80% increase in pay working for an advertising agency doing Mac support.

And let's be honest, it's retail... it's working typically IN THE MALL. You couldn't pay me enough to go back to that hell.

I thought that showing the job hire docs online if you had the job would be a dumb thing to do but if you didn't take the job then not a problem.

Ack154 must live in some parallel universe were the word 'half expected' does not exist, I know why I don't bother to read many Apple comments as unfortunately there seems to be far too many 'OCD types'' commenting on miniscule things completely 'off kilter' with regard to the article (ack154 look that up 'off kilter').

Finally you know things are bad in TUAW comments when it gets spammed by the Chinese selling counterfeit products lol

It was a joke that obviously flew so far over your head, you're now trying to explain your version of what I was trying to say. Which ironically appears to make you one of those "OCD types."

Douchebag. Look that up.
