Second build of Mac OS X 10.6.2 seeded to Apple developers
In the last few days, two builds of Mac OS X 10.6.2 Snow Leopard have been seeded to the Mac developer community. The latest build, 10C591F, is 456.8 MB in size and adds about a dozen changes to the fifty or so tweaks in the prior build. Apple has asked developers to test nearly 150 specific areas in order to make the new version of Snow Leopard as clean as possible. Known issues that are outstanding and have yet to be addressed include Core Data output, video corruption, and occasional hangs within System Preferences.
With another release of Snow Leopard pending, I thought we could have a little fun with a poll. Given that it took 88 days for 10.5.2 to hit Software Update after the initial release of Leopard, it may be too soon for another Snow Leopard cub to show up (November 24th would be 88 days). Of course, the past isn't any indication of future Apple OS release dates, so your guess is going to be as good as mine. If we don't have a date range listed that's you think is plausible, let us know what your guess is in the comments.

October 19th. That's when college starts here. You should do research though if an actual Snow Leopard is faster than a Leopard, so we can know for sure if it's going to take more or less than 88 days.

Hopefully some updates for iCal when used with Exchange. Some very basic features needed here - like optional update emails to all/some meeting attendees when updating a meeting, 'email all attendees' functionality in calendar entries to name just two

Add the option to right click on a document/file and select email instead of launching mail then dragging and dropping.
Add the option to right click a file or folder and click rename instead if having to click get info and then renaming
Add an unintaller (I use app zapper for now)
Implement more Facebook/Twitter like features like the ability to right click on a pic and clicking send to facebook or Twitter.
Fix the problem with Safari always crashing when it's on a page that uses flash(doesn't always happen tho)
Just my 2 cents ....

I like the right click->Email idea. It could be implemented as a service. Though, I don't really have much problem with dragging a file to the email icon in the dock; it's pretty intuitive.
Re: Uninstaller: As long as apps follow Apple guidelines in where they place their files, I think the "delete from Applications" is the simplest, easiest method there could possibly be. Though, a dialog asking if you would like to clean up pref files during the delete of the app would be nice.
Re: Facebook/Twitter integration: available through iPhoto plugins.
Re: Flash: This is an Adobe Flash problem... Don't get me started

"Add the option to right click a file or folder and click rename instead if having to click get info and then renaming"
You don't have to go to Get Info... I just click and press the Enter/Return key (you can also double-click on the name part) and rename the file. Been like this since System 6 or System 7 (maybe even System 1??).

my safari doesn't crash anymore... it just keeps hogging more and more system resources until the beachball becomes a way of life.
If I leave maill and safari open for a day or two, they slowly kill the entire system so that just swtiching between apps is a windows xp experience.
overall, snow leopard appears to have lost the UI repsonse tuning that leopard had as for unknown reasons, here and there, snow leopard gets moody and doesn't want to acknowledge input. Worse, it will many times just ignore input and show a beachball as if it is busy with something else and can't be bothered with my requests at the moment. Sort of reminds me of using a VAX terminal more than anything else.
is the graphics corruption issue related to the tops sites screen showing all manner of mess when it's opened and after the minutes of beachball it takes to show it?
some services menus finally show the source application, but others don't, which makes it very frustrating to use services at times.

Release it when its ready and has passed their quality goals, not when as some recent releases prove marketing want it out! Recent safari / itunes and iphone releases have been poor with quick fixes required to resolve serious bugs. These dent the "it just works" thing that apple have been building over the last couple of years.

Does anyone else find their icon in the app menu (and others) redraw slowly in Snow Leopard? I'm on a 2.4GHz MBP with 4GB Ram and an 160GB HD, but when I open windows the icons are generic for a few (5-6) seconds until they are redrawn. Can I fix this somehow? Kind of annoying. I also get "caching" icons when opening a mounted server volume. I'm on a wired netowrk and it's FAST but still these little things popping up. could it be I need to do a permission repair or something in disk utility perhaps?
Thanks All!!!
Lane

I have the same problem. This update is supposed to include some graphics driver updates so that might be addressed. It's an annoying bug but not one that is a life or death type situation or anything for me.

You CAN do a cut in Finder. If you right click a file and select Cut, the file gets moved to the Trash. You can then move the file out of Trash to wherever you want to Paste.
If you do a Copy, you can then Paste it into another folder if you wish.

What happened to the noted item where you could set an Application's Space from the dock? It's not there and would have made Spaces much more workable.
