Three new "Get a Mac" ads premiere, aimed at Win 7

Domestic TV watchers who tuned into the NBC Thursday comedy lineup or the Yankees-Angels playoff game on Fox were treated to three new Get a Mac ads in heavy rotation tonight, all focused on the launch of the latest Windows version. You can watch all three ads (Broken Promises, Teeter Tottering & PC News) over on Apple's site.

While these ads are pretty funny (Broken Promises, in particular, features some excellent work by the wardrobe department), it's not clear if the message of upgrade challenges from XP to Win7 is going to resonate. Apple's marketing team may describe Windows 7 as 'antiquated tech,' but the big M clearly is expecting plenty of PC users to buy brand new machines to run Win7 rather than upgrading their old gear. Will they consider a Mac as part of the mix? We can certainly hope so -- but by all indications, Windows 7 is no Vista, and it's quite a bit harder to sell against an operating system that doesn't actively shoot itself in the foot. Heck, it's possible that there may even be a few Mac diehards in the opening day lines to buy Win7.

Thanks to everyone who sent this in.

Stated a http://clarksshoess.us/ spokesman for the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, a government organization currently headed by Labour Party appointees, “The scale of unlawful file-sharing poses a real threat to the long-term sustainability of our creative industries. While surveys asking people about unlawful behaviour should be treated with caution, it’s encouraging that the

Hodgman = Win.

The strange thing is that the PC character is much more endearing than the Mac character. He's bumbling, but he means well. Mac is cooler but a bit more smug.

Which one would you rather go out for beer with, or to a baseball game? Mac isn't mean-spirited, but it seems that PC is a nicer guy.

"Their sales were mostly ipods and iphones. Gadgets. Nothing about using a Mac."

Go back and listen to the earnings call again. RECORD Mac sales, and a double-digit increase in laptop sales.

If you're going to cherrypick statistics to validate your viewpoints, you might as well try to have them be correct.

I liked the ads. Keep turning up the heat on Microsoft / Windows and all their broken promises.

I happily left the PC world and Windows earlier this year and am very happy. I have not put any Microsoft software on my MacBook Pro, nor will I (if I can help it, that is). Very pleased with iWork, BTW.

If you like apples build quality, you should try a clevo.

Fantastic build quality, and there are dozens of competing resellers, so you can get a quad core, and a GTX 280M for less than a macbook pro.

Clevo also has some absolutely beautiful hardware.

Take a look at xoticpc, avadirect, powernotebooks, or pctorque.
I used xoticpc, since they are like less than 1 hour from where I live, and I can just take to them if anything happens.

A friend of my wife's posted this on his Facebook...pretty much sums it up for me!

"I am so glad I don't need yet another operating system that fixes all of the stuff that was wrong with the last operating system. Thanks Mac!"
