Apple posts Wireless Mouse Update for the Magic Mouse

If you just happen to have a Magic Mouse, and are wanting to use its Multi-Touch features, there's now a Wireless Mouse Update available from Apple that lets you do so in Mac OS X. You still probably can't find a Magic Mouse around unless you buy an iMac, but if you happen to have one or want to prepare for when you get one, you can go ahead and download this update before you get it.
This Update is available for Snow Leopard or Leopard, and can be downloaded from the Apple Support Downloads page.

Well, I ran this update and now bluetooth no longer works at all, wonderful, anyone know how to fix this? My BT icon just says "Bluetooth: Not Available"

I tried one out at the Apple Store in NYC and absolutely fell in love with it.
Can't wait ... can't wait ...
Important news: This update will change the icon of the "Mouse" System Preferences pane to look like a Magic Mouse from above.

Should that give us some sort of hope for expose/dashboard integration? Or should I just get these unhealthy romantic notations of a Magic Mouse out of my head?

October 28 2009 at 10:45 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyI was really excited about the Magic Mouse at first. Like most, I hated the Mighty Mouse and have long since been using Logitechs. So I gave the Magic Mouse a try at the local store and I can't say I'm happy with it. Not only do you lose the ability to to trigger expose with a physical button, you also lose middle-click. I can't live without middle-click. Also, it's too flat to be ergonomic... at least for my hand. And, what's worse, the acceleration curve still sucks. How is it that a company as successful and brilliant as Apple continues to struggle to deliver something as simple as a properly tuned mouse? Thank God for Logitech and USB Overdrive. Otherwise, my iMac would be unusable. The MBP, on the other hand, has no such problems.

I love the magic mouse, but really miss using the mouse with expose'
I like the mouse a lot... moving parts are so 1998!
The extra weight and the metal base make it so very nice to use!
I hated the mighty mouse, I have a magic mouse on order from a large apple reseller and they are telling me it won't ship till the 13th of November, so I guess I'm waiting a bit.
