Boot Camp Drivers update 2.2 for Windows available
Earlier today, Apple released version 2.2 of Boot Camp drivers for Windows. Installation requires Boot Camp 2.1 to have been previously installed as well as Service Pack 2 for Windows Vista. Boot Camp is included with Leopard and Snow Leopard and lets you install Windows on an Intel-based Mac. Shops or individuals who want to go Mac despite an unavoidable Windows-only application should consider Boot Camp along with virtualization options like VMWare and Parallels. For full information on installing Boot Camp as well as upgrade instructions, manuals, troubleshooting tips and more, look here.
Please note that Boot Camp Drivers Update 2.2 is for Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard only.

I thought Snow Leopard came with Boot Camp 3.0?

This is probably just an update for the people that didn't buy Snow Leopard and thus haven't gotten the new drivers. But it probably would have been a better option for Apple to just update all users to 3.0.

Funny thing, even Boot Camp 3.0 users didn't get an update for the Mighty Mouse...

There's no update for Boot Camp 2.1 on Windows 7? Hmm...

"....virtualization options like VMWare and Parallels"
Let not forget Virtual Box for that perfectly good Open Source (free) alternative

Seconded! VB works quite well.

Seriously? Unless VB has improved dramtically in the last 6 months I don't believe it. Usable if you need to run a win app for 30 seconds, but frustrating if you actually need to work in windows for hours.

Certainly!! I use VB on 2 machines, one 50% of the time in Windows for work and it does a fine job. Not the refinements you get in VM and Parallels but a sturdy and viable alternative. Especially if you get fedup of having to pay Parallels for each new version!!!

Um, Vista doesn't have a SP2, it's still on SP1.

Two bad commenters, nothing new on TUAW... seriously this place is sliding into the gutter lately... Next we'll have people posting "first" comments...
Yes Vista SP2 has been out a long time and the original commenter should have checked before accusing the author. You however should learn how to use that cool reply button so your reply gets threaded under what you are receding to and you don't need to copy/paste ugly unformated text.

Hmmm - well, I have Snow Leopard and Boot Camp 3, and it has both of the problems this update is supposed to fix - the digital output LED being on constantly, and poor response to clicks on the trackpad around the edges. I haven't tried my Magic Mouse with Boot Camp, but it's a bit rubbish if it doesn't work. It would be nice if these fixes ended up on a 3.1 release as well, sooner rather than later.
