Apple Black Friday deals hit the Australian store
Put aside, for the moment, the incongruity of non-US stores featuring discounts for the day after a US-only holiday... just roll with it, OK? Apple's online store for Australia -- where, of course, it's already Black Friday -- has got the one-day discount page posted and ready to go.The pricing drops are in the vicinity of 8-10% on the listed gear, which is certainly nice, and consistent with the second take on the leaked Apple ad posted by Boy Genius Report (the first one posted by the site featured delightful discounts that were much higher -- and unfortunately quite bogus). Look for similar discounts on the US store starting tonight.
Thanks to Victor Cajiao!

Does anyone know whether this discount comes on top of the students discount? Or does it replace it?

I don't think it double stacks, as in order to get to student pricing, you have to go to a separate area of the site, which is why I bought my iMac 2 weeks ago. No real point in waiting.

It did two years ago. My MacBook cost $1499. Then it got the student discount ($100, I believe) and then another $50 off for Black Friday and came with a printer, wireless Mighty Mouse, and iWork (whatever the current version was two years ago). One hell of a deal, if you ask me.
Of course, I haven't seen anything like that this year and I think I may have only got it because the person helping us liked my dad and wanted to help give me a good 18th birthday present, but you never know. It could have just been a Black Friday/Student deal.

Apple don't usually let you stack discounts, so you'll probably have to take one or the other.

Looking at the ad, it seems to indicate that you can purchase either an 8G, 32G or 64G Touch for the same low price. I'm sure that clicking on the Buy Now link would quickly dispel that fantasy. Still, one could hope...

Wouldn't they have to honour it though? It clearly says 64GB iPod Touch $244. Not "from" or "starting at"
