MacMall is a fully authorized Apple Reseller. All of the machines that we sell at MacMall are completely sealed from Apple. If our customers want a custom configuration then we can upgrade the memory or hard drive with Apple spec drives. However these machines will still be covered under a full manufacturer warranty and all of our technicians are 100% Apple trained and certified. If for any reason you have difficulty with your machine or any of the upgrades, please feel free to contact me directly.

Hi Guys!
Great to see my favorite website mentioning my game!
Yeah, I am the developer of 9,000BC
Bummer, that some people missed out on the killer sale :(
I hope you all enjoyed 9KBC!
Have a great day and thanks TUAW for the limelight :)
Btw, to appreciate all the attention I am keeping the price of 9000 BC $0.99 for a few days.
If you want to try the free version, here it is: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/9000-bc-ep2-lite-magical-spears/id334733393?mt=8

November 30 2009 at 10:50 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyI'll second the Macmall rebate issues. In fact I no longer factor in rebates when looking at sale prices. If it's a rebate, it's a 50-50 shot at ever actually seeing money.
This isn't isolated to Macmall but some retailers are worse than others.
Be careful when dealing with MacMall. I submitted all the paperwork to get a rebate on a Mac Pro and on an HP Printer and NEVER RECEIVED EITHER OF THE REBATES. That was bad enough. But later, when a drive failed and it was still under AppleCare, I discovered MacMall does NOT use Apple certified hard drives in their systems. They use off-the-shelf drives (same brand and model just not Apple certified). When I needed to get the new drive, the Apple support person was willing to overlook this and said this was an on-going problem with MacMall.
Regarding Getting Rebates from MacMall: Make a copy of all your paperwork and send it in via Certified Mail *AND* a delivery confirmation receipt. It's extra work and a little extra expense but otherwise you're at the mercy of trusting MacMall and. at least in my case, they did not act ethically.
YMMV but I would not trust their rebate system. And ask them when purchasing: Are your hard drives certified by Apple? If not, Apple is really not under any obligation to honor the warranty.
