Join us Friday at 2 ET for a TUAW Hackintosh Clinic
Did you get in on the recent Dell Mini 10v hackintoshable laptop deal? (Even if you didn't, that $279 regular pricing is still a pretty darn good deal.) Now that Black Friday minis are showing up at the door, TUAW is holding a live Hackintosh clinic to offer peer support and insight. Join Joachim Bean (our newest Hackintosh expert) and Erica Sadun (who has been known to dabble) on Friday, Share

My questions will be what can I actually install on it? iLife? iWork (really just Pages)? World of Warcraft? (what? all work and no play...).
Is this all audio/video for the chat or will it be text Q&A? I'm at work as well, and will be just back from lunch after getting my Mini 10V :):):)
Timely, since I just did this on a Mini10v I got on Black Friday. But bummage on the chat time... some of us have to work!
I used this method:
and then upgraded to 10.6.2. Everything works, but it isn't completely stable.
 Mini 10v  | 1Gb RAM | 250 Gb/7200RPM HDD | OSX 10.6.2 | NBI .8.3RC4 | BIOS A06 | USB Wake : OFF | USB Legacy : OFF | No BlueTooth
Ok, I don't know why the link in my comment got eaten. Let's try that again:

Excellent.
I am most interested in making Dell Mini10v to dual boot XP and SL.
How do I join the chat tomorrow?
PERFECT TIMING!
I can't get the OSX Install DvD to drag over to my source line in Disk Utility. I'm following Gizmodo's guide so far and of course I get stuck right off. Yay :(
Nice one Erica!
Definitely going to try to drop in tmrw.

Much respect to mechdrew, bmcclure937 and meklort
This is interesting, I wonder how big this clinic will be. I know there a lots of people who want to do this but don't know where to look for help.
(I'm surprised more of the "hackintosh" haters haven't commented about this.)
I realize from the posts on TUAW, that Apple went after Psystar because they were selling clones. Has Apple ever officially made a statement about hackintoshes? I've been eyeing a netbook tablet :)

People are even tagging laptops with "Hackintosh" to help you find capability models.
I think I like the Hackintosh decal the best, which even available in various colors.

I think I will stick with Apple equipment. I just want a computer that works.
Link for Decals would be great :)
