Rumor: 22" touch computer coming from Apple

It's Monday, January 18th and we've got more tablet rumors than Tony Romo's got bruises. This time, a report comes from the Chinese publication Commercial Times (via DigiTimes), stating that Apple will launch a 22", touch-enabled all-in-one computer before the year's end.

This rumor amounts to little more than that sentence, but we assume that something that large won't be meant for carrying around. Instead, think of an iMac with a Troll Touch display (above), or something like the HP Touchsmart line. On one hand, it makes sense. If the tablet proves as popular as the iPod touch and iPhone, why wouldn't Apple extend the touch screen to the rest of its lineup?

On the other hand, no one wants to hold their arm in mid-air all day long like this guy. We'll have to keep an eye on this one.

Oh, Apple. Just release the darn thing and make the rumors stop!

Anyone knows if this new touch screen would be announced on Jan 26 or 27th?

I think something is wrong here! I remember the touch screen coming out and there wasn't anyone bragging about it.
But HP and i do believe Sony dropped several types of touch screen desktop.
Very cheap prices as well.

Rumor: Apple to release the Magic Brace as accessory for the 22" touch screen iMac to treat the carpal tunnel syndrome it causes.

I have to believe Apple isn't stupid enough to release something like this, even if they did push out MobileMe and an iPod without controls.

I don't know about this...we'll see. But sometimes the last minutes rumors turn out to be right! Btw, the 'H' in HP Touchsmart isn't hyperlinked. Just a heads up.

Hey, if the touchscreen model has a matte finish to it I'm in, even if I actually never touch it. Anything to get rid of the glossy screens we've got now.

But this is already in the schools... I live in NYC. There must be something wrong here.

I think there is a youtube video of a guy using the touch screen for imac.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lRrWEZXaqH4 If this link doesn't work, just go to youtube and put in the troll touch imac touch screen!

Now this video is going to get more hits than a boxer can throw!

Whilst I think touch will come to the iMac and Macbook lines eventually, I wouldn't really expect one until much later in the year. Especially since Apple recently released the 21.5" and 27" models, I don't see them making any major hardware revisions so soon.

She brags about touching this, touching that, etc... Are you kidding me?!?!?''

apple is going backwards! I will definitely confirm with my sister about her monitor.

Again, she is not an apple fan.. I am. She keeps on asking me why did i buy the 27" without touch screen! aarrgggh!!!!

Hopefully this is more an indication that an impending tablet would be full OS X instead of just a bigger iPhone. If they're making the whole OS touchable for these purposes, then the same tech would be usable on a smaller form-factor too.
