MacHeist nano bundle adds Tweetie for final day
The ever-popular MacHeist bundle, offering eight Mac apps for $20 total, closes out at midnight Pacific Time tonight. If you've been on the fence so far about whether or not to buy in this year, two bits of news may push you over the brink.First, all the initial applications have been unlocked; both Tales of Monkey Island and RapidWeaver are fully present and accounted for. Second, there's been a last-minute addition to the roster; Tweetie for Mac (normally $20 on its own) is now part of the bundle.
If you're Macheisting this year, let us know what you think of the app selection; if not, share your reasons why. (We will accept "I'm saving up for tickets to Tron Legacy" as a valid reason.)

Man, when did TUAW become the "MacHeist Advertising Blog?"
March 11 2010 at 1:42 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyI am on my MacBook Pro right now, which the hard drive is currently "failing" and I can't even run OS X (yes im on boot camp running Windows 7)! With that said, I STILL bought the package, because when I get my new hard drive in within the next week or two, I will want those applications for sure! I was going to buy Ripit before, RapidWeaver is awesome, so is MacJournal and Cover Scout! Every app in here is either useful or fun! As long as MacHeist keeps comin' with the awesome application packages like this in the MacHeist NanoBundle2, I will continue to buy every one!

March 10 2010 at 11:16 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplySo far I'm liking the apps. Although I can't get Tracks to start playing a podcast in iTunes. It plays other music tracks, just not podcasts.
March 10 2010 at 9:24 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyAdding Tweetie hooked me. I got mine, Jack.
i bought the bundle early because flow was $5 more by itself. fetch is great but doesn't compare.
getting tweetie was just a great, fantastic bonus.
Pass. I never play games on my Mac ( that's what my iPhone and old Dell are for). I much prefer Echofon to Tweetie, so that's out, and I already have Coda which is (I think) better than Rapid weaver.
MacJournal And Coverscout did get my attention for a second though.
Passing on this, because MacHeist's poor-taste marketing is really starting to get to me. I'm quite tired of seeing them trick/get people into spamming Twitter for them -- it's ridiculous. MacHeist member since the beginning, but I won't be buying this bundle or anything else from MacHeist in the conceivable future.
March 10 2010 at 6:13 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyNobody is tricking anyone in to tweeting. It's a 3 step process that you have to manually participate in. As far as lining the pockets of the 2 macheist founders, nobody likes the bunldes more than the developers.
There was in fact a guy who had the same attitude as you and thought developers were getting ripped off and was going to uncover the whole story. And then he interviewed 6 developers who were all excited and hoping to get in on it next year because the explosion in customers and word of mouth advertising is huge for the rest of the year.
By not participating because you think you are making a stand, you are in fact just not supporting the developers who make great software.
Here is the link to the interviews.

Passed on this, just due to duplicating most of my application folder!
March 10 2010 at 4:57 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyI got it for RipIt and Flow. Monkey Island has turned out to be the one I've used the most, though. I bought Tweetie on pre-order, so I'm just excited for beta access on that. :P You can't pass up the apps that you get. Especially for $18, with the discount. :D
