First Look: Weather HD for iPad
VIMOV's Weather HD combines standard weather forecasting with video backdrops. Although I doubt the application comes with the new age music track, you can tell from this preview that it focuses on looks.
I was a little surprised to see the floaty utility-style palette. You'd think that new weather applications would provide some kind of "Find Me" Core Location-powered feature, but I guess people do want to check on places they're about to visit or are away from as well.
Weather HD is availablel for US$0.99 on the App Store.

It's $1 guys. Lighten up. I'll be getting it for sure. Part of the beauty of the ipad Is that it is a digital picture frame that is wifi connected even when you're not using it, while every other computer is just OFF. This is a nice background app you can leave it on when you're doing other stuff. One dollar. Seriously.

And the rest of the time I'd just put up a photo screensaver.
Besides free, I think 99 cents is a good price for this sort of thing. I'm really cheap (my iPhone and iPod Touch were gifts) and even I will buy apps that cost up to about $2.99, depending on what it is.
Looks like all show and no substance to me.

April 02 2010 at 12:56 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyWell, it's certainly pretty. It's not really meant as a utility weather app but more of a conversation piece when the ipad isn't in use in my opinion. And if u don't want that then why bash it? Just don't spend the 4 quarters
April 01 2010 at 11:16 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyThat is one sexy weather forecast!
April 01 2010 at 10:09 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyThis is, quite possibly, the weather app I would never buy. Just show me the weather.

And i've noticed that developers are charging more for iPad apps than iPhone - but prices should tumble quickly as they did several weeks after the appstore opened.
