Bluetooth headset comes with its own iPhone app

The Sound ID is a Bluetooth headset with its own iPhone app. EarPrint is an app created just to control the sound of the headset -- you can tweak the audio in and out, change volume, and even find a lost headset directly from the iPhone itself. Not exactly revolutionary (personally, I've never really found a reason to use a Bluetooth headset -- when the actual iPhone didn't work for me, the wired headset works fine), but it's a nice bit of added functionality, especially if you know you'll always be using this headset with an iPhone.

The Sound ID is available for $130 (there are many cheaper BT headsets out there, but for the money it's a respectable piece of tech), and the EarPrint app is free.

If Apple was serious about making this a truly mobile device, AVRCP and easy BT on/off would be integrated without jailbreak.

I love my iPhone and MacBook, but this latest snub by NBC and others is a great FU to Steve Jobs. Apple has become Microsoft and sold themselves out for the $.

Obviously you're missing the point. Of course you click one button on your bluetooth headset to answer a call ONCE IT's ALREADY ON AND CONNECTED. The point the others are trying to make is how much of a pain it is to turn bluetooth on for iphone initially. Not just when you're answering a call. And I agree, Apple failed with this. They don't allow third party apps to access settings, so Apply should just make a one-touch bluetooth app themselves. Basically every other smart or dumb phone on the market has quick bluetooth access, why not the iphone.

And you have missed the point of the reply button. How difficult can it be?

You don't own a douche tag? That's un-American!

I don't quite get these comments. My Jawbone goes on my ear and I push on the side of it, and I am on. I answer an incoming call with one push to the headset. I can call with voice activation. Works fine, except for volume control - there is a way to do it on the headset, but not great feedback. This concept of an app that sets the volume would be somewhat helpful.

To use a Bluetooth headset, you have to first turn on Bluetooth -- unless you leave yours on all the time (i.e. Settings - general...). I'd like a one-click app to turn BT on and off -- that way it doesn't drain battery life and is much more convenient. Side note: I don't wan to jailbreak my phone either; it should be able to do this without hacking.

4.0 needs to add AVRCP to the Bluetooth profile. I have a pair of Sony HBH-IS800 Bluetooth headphones and they are useless because you can't control the volume. Why nobody makes a stereo Bluetooth headset with a simple cord and 2 earbuds is beyond me. I need something for the gym. Apple, the iPhone is a mobile listening device...how can you not support full Bluetooth profile? Ridiculous.

jailbreak and buy Music controls, it adds full AVRCP control.

I hope they'll jump to the latest AVRCP 1.4 version where you can browse your entire music library rather than the current playlist/album. Most new phones still lack that functionality.

Bluetooth on the iPhone is worthless because it takes 7 clicks just to turn it on -- not very convienent. Plus, in my state you have to use hands-free if driving a car. 7 clicks is ridiculous if you need to turn it on while you're driving. Love my iPhone but hate how long it takes to turn BT on. My old BB only needed 1 click. Big time fail on Apple's part. Hopefully it will be fixed with OS 4, but I haven't heard anything about it yet. Why not a one-click BT app? That would be perfect.
