Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac 12.2.5 Update

The custom dictionary also will now let you include words from different languages.
It appeared in Microsoft's auto-update as a 200MB download. If you download it from Microsoft's Mac downloads page it appears to be 333MB, so you'll probably only want to do that if you have multiple Macs to update.
Thanks to Jeff for the tip.

Whoa! I just sort of clicked on the updater, figuring on the usual 60-second download. That was half an hour ago -- and I have a cable modem. Hard to believe they needed to totally replace that much code. Glad I'm not in charge of updating a network of 100 Macs.

I think I'm going to hold off until I hear more about this. This is the kind of thing that makes me really wish that Apple office was more sophisticated!!
June 10 2010 at 12:53 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyI'm attempting to install the Microsoft Office 2005 for Mac 12.2.5 Update, the type is critical that was released June 8 2010 .. when the system gets to "Installation" the running AutoUpdate Installer script that appears showing the progress using the blue strip as it's preparing Office 2008 12.2.5 Update has no movement whatsoever. It's been well over an hour and I took down all applications. Does it take this long!!! to install the Word Update?! It's just the slight vibration of the blue strip and that's it. Any suggestions??

The app doesn't even store the downloaded update either - had to re-download it again...
There's an update for Office 2004, too. Only 9.6 MB for that one.

June 09 2010 at 2:40 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyI can say that the update greatly reduced the startup time of all Office programs in my installation of Office 2008.

June 08 2010 at 6:34 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyExcept Apple. You have to download the entire program every time there's an incremental update. Sure, theirs aren't close to 200Mb - but the whole office suite is about 4Gb.
