Wow - kinda short contest, eh? They made the same offer to engadget readers earlier. I'm guessing they didn't get many takers. $75 off of a $700+ product is ridiculous, especially when there's much lower priced NAS' out there with similar features. Drobo was the innovator back in the day, for attached storage, but they've been long since passed up by the popularity of NAS products and took too long to get the FS to market. Plus the droboapps never really took off.
: shakes head in disgust as I realize I just entered a contest that has already ended:
O_o.... I like how Drobo is still taking entries after they already announced a winner. Stay classy guys.
Don't buy Drobos. They are unreliable, noisy, the support is crap and you'll have nothing but a load of problems.

OOO meee! Well not me, it's for my dad. He's been a fine art photographer for damn near 40 years, and in the past 5 years or so he's gone digital. He scanned all of his slides and got himself a nice DSLR. The only problem is he doesn't backup his stuff. So basically, he's got one copy of his 40 years of work.
