Moleskine case hides your iPhone, prison-style

I really do love the look of moleskine books. When you've got a well-worn leather moleskine book, bursting with notes and bookmarks, you sort of feel like you're holding onto the long lost notes of Dr. Henry Jones Sr. on the whereabouts of the Holy Grail. No? Just me?

If you're completely nuts about all things moleskine, there's a new iPhone case that should be right up your alley. As seen pictured, the case looks like a hollowed-out moleskine book that fits your iPhone, complete with traditional elastic band. In essence, the iPhone replaces what would be oh-so-passe paper. Finally, a classy way to hide your cell in your cell during prison guard shakedowns.

It appears that Moleskine reads the TUAW too... they've now launched a series of magical little notebooks designed specially to fit the iPhone 3g (& 3Gs) and iPad. Hazaahh!!! - http://wp.me/p106i6-XW

Looks great, but just how practical is it?

I have the sneaking suspicion that I'd use it for a bit of peacocking, then move back to a much more practical case.

Seriously wouldn't mind one for a bit of peacocking though.

Moleskine is pretty much over... thanks mainly to marketing overkill.

Artisan-made Japanese stationery brand MUCU is where you should be looking.

Aside from the unforeseen (ya-right!) copy of the Dodocase branded product, frankly, I think its one of the most unattractive bookCovers out there for a device. I am not knocking the way its built, however those faux pages are going to get dirty, isn't there going to be a heat-build-up issue at somepoint? Plus the simple fact, that elastic band that keeps it shut, its going to eventually wear down, and what, I'll have a saggy elastic band on an expensive cover? Sometimes, if you're going to copy something, make some $#@%&*+= improvements to the "copy".

Ya know where they hide things in prison? Up their butts. So, I'm not really interested in hiding my iPhone "prison style".

Big time rip off from Dodocase.

I just got one of these in the mail. It has no hole for the rear camera -- making it totally, completely useless as a case.

Looks terribly bulky and inconvenient when using the iPhone as a phone.

Yes, I wonder how we would all look holding a book/notebook to our heads.

I think the concept is to remove the phone from the case when holding it to your head. Not terribly inconvenient to do this.

You still get to enjoy the touch and feel of the phone that way.

When it's in the case and closed it looks very classy.
