iWork Update 9.0.4 brings ePub file support to Pages, fixes bugs

A new update to iWork is providing some fixes to bugs (primarily with tables) in Keynote, Pages, and Numbers, but also provides a new export option that makes Pages documents compatible with iBooks.

The iWork 9.0.4 update is recommended for anyone using iWork 9.0 - 9.0.3. The fixes for Keynote include patching an issue that occurred when printing handouts with rule lines, resolving a problem with the slide switcher, and also fixes an issue when automatically resizing some images when changing the size of a slide.

Pages received the fix for tables, as well as the ePub export option. Numbers was impacted the least, with only the table fix being applied to the app.

The update is available via Software Update or can be downloaded from the Apple Support Downloads page. It's about 71.2 MB in size via Software Update. There's also a MacBook Pro EFI Firmware Update for mid-2010 15-inch and 17-inch models.

Thanks to Michael K. for the tip!

Damn... was hoping this might fix the bug whereby it's impossible to change paper size in Pages from your default; change it and it just changes right back.
But it seems not...

Anyone know of a fix?

Thanks

Incredible.

Just created an eBook with photos, audio and video. Synced with my iPhone and...you guessed it...it just works. This small update is huge in terms of it's import to people who want to create content for iPad and iPhone. It quite literally could not be any easier.

The rule line printing bug in Keynote has been there since Snow Leopard was released. Many people filed bug reports through the official channels but nothing happened (see http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=10600800). 3 weeks ago I sent an email to Steve Jobs himself about this. Never got a reply of course, but today's update fixes this exact bug. Coincidence?

I've been struggling with Calibre and Sigil for some time and I was hoping that Pages would eventually save to ePub format. Now that it does I'll buy iWork.

I've been very frustrated by how SLOW Sigil is. Calibre is more responsive, but it's so kludgy as to be nearly useless. It works well for conversion from other formats to ePub, but that's about all I can do with it so far.

What would be REALLY brilliant is if Pages were able to edit (or import for editing) existing ePub documents. Maybe we'll get that in 4.0.5?

Export to ePub is awesome...
Apple is doing more for e-books than anyone save Amazon.

As long as we have open formats, this is going to be a good future.

Wow, no comments on this. This is a cool feature. I am excited to use this feature. All my pdf files will be read like a book in iBooks - with the swipe feature? That is pretty cool I think. No on else thinks so????
