These are the products:

iPod Nanette. That little thingie isn't the nano, it's a new category.
iPod Nano. Looking like the previous one, this time it is HD.
iPod Classic. Retired.
iPod Touch. Two way video for FaceTime. Retina.
iPad Note. The seven incher.
iPad Slab. The 14-incher. Tall like a legal pad. Turns wide for HD.
iTV. Much as has been touted.
One more thing:
The Apple ThinkItHappens machine. Thought interface.

I for one am hoping for a 64-bit, Cocoa-based iTunes 10. I'm REALLY hoping for it to be chopped up into constituent applications for different tasks like Mail+iCal+Address Book, perhaps as iTunes+Store+iSync (for media management/playback, purchasing of media/books/apps, and iPhone/iPod/iPad management), but that seems unfortunately unlikely.

appleTV, ipods, ilife, iwork, and a spit shine on the app store

itunes is probably already ready for what they are doing, but they might hop it up to a new itunes 10 to support the ilife bump? nobody has been talking about betas, but I think they are rolling out a whole new front to the entire itunes landscape, maybe not today, but announcing it today.

i'm still thinking they won't change the name, but they probably will to iTV, only to unify the iOS ecosphere. maybe the AppleTV name will be moved to refer to the content service, or reserved for the all-in-one TV, not the little box.

Oh, consistent with the rumors, I think we'll see Steve playing pong or something on the new STB device.

facetime for the new device might get a mention, but surprise if rolled out today.

just to clarify... I think this whole press event is going to focus more on the iTunes everywhere experience, and the total iOS

January is too late for appleTV additions, even though that starts consumer electronic show seasons.

AppleTV updates and roll outs are for now because the new TV seasons start soon -- Apple will want to be on top of that schedule, not the hardware schedule.

It will be interesting to see if Apple was able to cut an NFL deal away from dish with the league.... on top of tv shows, sports broadcasts are the other big deal to have an electronic device attached to your rig.

that'd be huge... HUGE... HUGGGEEEEEEEE! Something tells me they tried to get an NFL ticket-type arrangement... If they didn't, ESPN did...

either way, that will be announced, too.

I'm going for the really radical approach. I'm going to (wait for it.....) "wait and see".

Bet you anything I find out what's new before the end of the day.

I think this live broadcast by Apple is a demonstration of the broadcast capabilities of the iTV. Also they will announce Quicktime X for Windows.

They should add a USB, memory card slot in there iPad to stay in the competition with the likes of Samsung, Viewpad etc.

They (Apple) should also allow every computer user in the world to purchase there operating system and install it on the new intel / amd processors. (would get there operating system more awareness and open it to the world).

It's open anyway - in the form of hackintosh - but would be nice to have it running vanilla.

The problem with that is the same problem Microsoft faces: they would need to support every possible configuration of hardware that has or can exist in the past, present, and all possible futures, and likely any alternate dimensions as well. This is often cited as one of the reasons Windows lags behind because of all the time going into testing the multitude of environments, and then all the support they have to give for people with a setup they haven't tested. This is a problem Apple is immune to by linking their hardware and software. They have every possible machine on hand to test new software with and what doesn't work (and they can't fix it to work) gets scratched off the compatibility list.
