Limited edition Joule and Vapor cases from ElementCase

elementcase joule vapor

We've drooled over the Joule, a classy metal iPad stand before, and the Vapor iPhone 4 case is one of my favorite iPhone cases. That said, they are not what you would call inexpensive. Nevertheless, the latest models to roll off their custom shop floor are even more exclusive, as limited-edition colors are now available under the "extreme metals" line.

These are extremely limited-edition collectible stands and cases. As you can see in the gallery, the Joule stands have a nice variety in colors (quite excellent for those of us enjoying the Fall colors), and the Vapor cases now include some shiny nickel and a "blood" red that is quite bright. The price range on the Vapor extreme metal line is $99 to $109, while the Joule extreme metal line is $159. As I said, these are not budget cases.

The Vapor cases are released in very limited quantities via pre-order list, expected to ship "within a few weeks," whereas the Joule is available now. If you're looking for high-end accessories for the holidays, these are a good bet.

I would kill for a Vapor 007 or AR15-V. I've been on the waiting list since the Summer -- still have yet to be contacted. Maybe I'll get one here! (fingers crossed)

After seeing one in person I was pretty disappointed. Dings and scratches in the metal, odd finish effects, and the parts don't line up correctly when installed on the phone. It really bummed me out, because I was excited for this case. I hope V2 is an improvement.

I had the same experience as another contributor re: GPS and wireless communications. The metal looks extremely cool and feels great in your hand. But it does a very good job of interfering with GPS, Wi-Fi and mobile signals. I ended up returning my Vapor case and getting a refund. If this company could develop carbon fiber cases, that might solve the problem. [I now use a case from IvySkin.]

Anyone that would spend $99-$159 for a bumper case that doesn't do anything more than a $15 one is a complete idiot.

Oddly enough that's almost exactly what budget PC users say about Mac buyers ;)

Looks cool .. but I don't see myself spending that much money on a case, that basically offers no protection.

And they somehow look like they were made for lefties .. no offense .. in my opinion the color bar with the bumps should be on the other side of the phone aka where the fingers go, not the palm.

Love to have one of these, but i don't think I can get one before the iphone 5 comes out. You have to register just to get on a list of people that they will sell it to. I registered during defcon at the end of July and still no response. Honestly kind of pissed me off but I think that co has to find a faster way to manufacture them.
