November 01 2010 at 8:26 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyI upgraded, found iPhoto 11 to be unusable (it triggers a channel exception nVidia driver error on a lot of different types of Macs, resulting in freezes) so I restored my entire drive from backup.
I've learned the hard way to mistrust any software updates Apple puts out these days. The major ones I won't even install unless I've ran SuperDuper first.
Does it also re-add the non-existing calendar function? I don't care about fancy greeting cards, I want some calendars (yes, I know it's the lamest christmas present, but I have some kick ass drawings)

October 31 2010 at 4:22 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyIronically with all the people who've been having problems with iPhoto '11, when I installed it and it reprocessed my photo library it actually recovered 11 photos I thought were lost forever during an import that crashed my computer FIVE months ago.

October 30 2010 at 10:55 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyI have a separate 1TB drive for all my images (mostly RAW format), which I then import to iPhoto. This way, if something goes wrong, I still have all the originals.
I installed iLife '11, allowed library update and all my images are there, no glitches whatsoever on a Mac Pro 2008 with very little in the way of 3rd party stuff that affects the system.
What's happened to Apple's quality control lately? Glad I wasn't an early adopter with this - might stick with 09 for a while yet. Don't think I'll be first in the queue for Lion either.
October 30 2010 at 5:05 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyAfter the update, I was able to finally update my library, but iPhoto 11 is so slow. I'm getting the beachball constantly, and that is on a Mac Pro with 7G ram. Count me disappointed.
