Apple TV ready to launch in Taiwan, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Portugal, and Belgium
9to5 Mac speculates that the second generation Apple TV is set to launch in Taiwan, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Portugal, and Belgium tomorrow morning. Last night, the night before the second gen Apple TV went on sale in Italy and Switzerland today, anyone who clicked on the original Apple TV link on the country's Apple Online Store were taken to an error message. Today, that error message is being replicated in the Apple Online Stores of Taiwan, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Portugal, and Belgium when shoppers click on the same Apple TV link.
While this does seem to signify that the new Apple TV is set for imminent release in seven new countries, it's unknown if HD movie and TV rentals will appear in those countries' Apple TV iTunes store. We'll keep an eye out for official news that Apple TV is ready to launch elsewhere, and let you know when we hear more.

November 12 2010 at 11:32 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyWhy the odd sorting order?
Taiwan, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Portugal, and Belgium.
It should be like this:
Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Portugal, Sweden and Taiwan.
This way it would not only be in alphabetical order but ordered by continent; European countries + 1 Asian country.
The new Apple TV is available in Spain now as well. Ordered one yesterday ;)

Finally.
The error page was present in all the Scandinavian Apple Stores until about midnight, then the old Apple TV came back with this info:
Product's Step 1 Title in PIM
Ships: Currently not available
Free delivery
NOK 1.349,00
(Which is about $225.. Hopefully that'll change..)
On Norwegian Applestore it says:
Product's Step 1 Title in PIM on the AppleTV page,
and that the product is not available for shipment.
Well nothing new in the Danish store yet, still the old version of the Apple TV, and no error page....

November 12 2010 at 1:26 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyYesterday I saw that the Japanese store had a bunch of movies for sale or to rent, and they're also showing up on the iTunes app on my iPhone. Most titles though are American with either Japanese subtitles or dubbed audio. It would be nice if they offered more original Japanese movies.
BTW, the iBooks store is still worthless in Japan. Just random books you can find on Project Gutenberg.
