Tweetie 2 for Mac slated for Mac App Store release

Razorianfly announced that it received exclusive news that Tweetie 2 for Mac will be available when the Mac App Store is released tomorrow.

The site has few details, but it does have a screenshot and promises that they've gotten an exclusive look at the client.

Tweetie 2 for Mac is a long time coming, and we'll be happy to finally get our hands on this Twitter client.

Hm, I switched to Echofon because of the bad update record (modern retweets not supported et cetera) and the fact that Tweetie is pretty wasteful with screen real estate.

I see this version doesn't improve on that: huge icons that serve no function (or at least, remain even when they're not needed). I really like(d) the way Tweetie displays conversations, but Echofon for Mac just opens a temporary pane when needed.

Upon looking at it. It is named Twitter up in the name. Would Twitter sell an app? Maybe Twitter bought Tweetie, and Tweetie 2 is just code name for free Twitter for Mac? Thoughts? Twitter on iPad/iPhone are free.

Just went to the link and was reminded that purchasers of the last MacHeist were promised a free upgrade to v2.

I am one of those purchasers, so...

IIRC we were only promised free/early access to a beta, not necessarily the full, final app.

Awesome! I wonder how much it will cost. If it's $5 or less I'll definitely get it.

I don't think Twitter purchased the desktop app.

Praise the Lord! Wait... This means no upgrade price. Better be cheap.

Regardless, I've been Really looking forward to this.

I will now put more juice into hammering Apple over their lack of iWeb update.

Please don't make me pay a ton more to upgrade from Tweetie to Tweetie 2.
