iOS RSS reader NewsRack out now in Mac App Store

NewsRack, the popular iOS RSS feed reader, is now available for Mac OS X (10.6.6 or later) in the Mac App Store. The new version from omz:software offers syncing with Google Reader, drag and drop feed arrangement, tabbed browsing and thumbnail previews, just as any good feed reader should. It has been available on iOS devices for a while now (US$4.99), but the Mac version is now ready for download from the Mac App Store for $6.99.

There are numerous RSS feed readers already popular with OS X users that we have discussed here at TUAW, such as Reeder and NetNewsWire, and I myself am a Reeder fan on both my Mac and on my iPhone. Those of you still looking for that perfect reader might want to check out NewsRack, but I am not sure if I am willing to jump ship right now to a new app. However, it is always nice to have another solid option should I change my mind in the future.

I peronally use Times and it's the best RSS reader I have seen. It even has pages that flips like in real papers. The only downside is that, depending on a setup of a feed, it won't give you the full article, so you do have to use browser. But I might give this one a try.

Might give this a try. I liked NetNewsWire, but I didn't like how it wouldn't delete old read feeds (delete was grayed out and just kept stacking up).

I've been using Gruml for quite some time now, and reading this article made me remember about Reeder's Mac desktop client, which they have a working beta out now (meaning your Google Reader account will sync with it).

Knowing the ins and outs of Reeder on my iPhone, using Reeder is a lot easier on the eyes than Gruml, but I'm still hopping between the two to make a final decision.

The relevance of this post? I used to use NewsRack on my iPhone, but then I discovered Reeder.

Nice looking app.
Personally, to read my Google Reader feed on my Mac I use Safari and the extension "Google Reader Snow Leopard 1.3" which is available in the extension gallery I think. Does the job...
On the subject of Mac native apps, I think I have to retrain myself. I do most things in the browser. Sometimes I'm too lazy to open mail while I'm in the browser so I CMD-T > 'g' > Enter instead.
