Bad kitty: Sticky mouse issue demonstrated in Lion

Over the day we've been hearing about bugs in the developer preview of Mac OS X 10.7 Lion, mostly with third-party services like Dropbox (no sync, no menu bar icon), Evernote, the 1Password Safari plug-in, Textual crashes, etc. But here's a little video demonstrating an acute case of "sticky mouse" -- not what you want in your shiny new OS, I should think.

Video on the next page, but what it shows is that clicking on an item in the new operating system can cause it to become stuck to your mouse. Luckily, Apple has a few more months of grooming before this cat is actually out of the cage.

Ha ha ha. Thanks for the laugh Victor, just what I needed! It's good to make light of things that normally happen. In the Desert of Life laughter is a tiny oasis that drinking makes me feel good. Maybe someday I'll make you laugh... *Ha ha ha*

Jacklinkproductions repeated comments are useful to me because it tells me that he is a developer who not only wastes time posting the same comments over and over, but also will not start work on compatibility with a future OS just because there are still some bugs in it, and apparently will wait until the OS ships.

You're not, by chance, using A Better Touch Tool, MiddleClick, or another similar utility for modifying input behavior? I know I had the same thing happening to me after a 10.5.x update with MiddleClick, and I switched to ABTT to avoid it.

It's really said when people have nothing to write about. Geez, go try helping people in NZ get some relief.

Saying that a preview software has bugs is the most stupid thing I have read in days.

Sorry for the poster, but come on!!! Show you have some brain cells and spare us these kinds of posts.

You know what I complain about? The fact that the fraking icons look the same. WHEN WILL THEY change those ugly arse folder icons and put a different skin on this baby?

Am I the only one tired of the metal 2D look on the OS?

"Luckily, Apple has a few more months of grooming before this cat is actually out of the cage."

why would it be apple.. say that was a logitech mouse and the problem is with the drivers (as others have suggested).

thank god there's things like DEVELOPER previews so the logitech developers can get a jump on issues and have patches ready when Lion ships.

I'd like to aplaude the use of Robot Chicken for the article.

Also, it is prerelease software, and doesn't effect everyone. Perhaps a driver issue with certain pointing devices.

I can't even reproduce the failure on my Lion installation…

This has to be the most useless article I've seen on TUAW in a long time. Bugs in an early developer preview? It's not even a real beta yet, and you are "reporting" on a bug?

Wow, and it's not even a slow news day...

Just because this article is not relevant to you, does not mean it isn't relevant to anyone.

Developers like myself read TUAW. This was a very helpful article. It has helped me decide that I will wait before installing Lion.

Seriously! An unreleased OS has bugs! Stop the freakin' presses.

This has got to be the stupidest post I've ever seen. And as Big Dave mentioned, you've just violated the NDA. Don't think Apple won't try to figure out you are and rank your developer membership.
