PadTab: inexpensive iPad wall mount

The PadTab is an iPad mounting system that takes your iPad and lets you mount it to a flat surface without the use of any power tool, screws or hammers. The PadTab is a two-piece solution that uses a high strength adhesive wall mount and a plastic mounting plate for your iPad. For the low cost of US$19.95, you get a mounting plate for the iPad and two wall mounts. Additional wall mounts are available for $9.99 each. It is compatible with the iPad, the iPad 2 and select cases, such as the Marware Hard Case.

We have not tested this system ourselves, but the idea is interesting. It would be an easy mounting solution to use in the kitchen for recipes and entertainment while you cook, or in your workshop so that you can follow This Old House while you build your brand new deck. Without using a stand or a stand case, you can keep your valuable counter or workbench space and still have your iPad close by. A win-win situation, no?

What's missing in the product arena are two other wall mounts.

One for the iPhone 4, and the other for the iPad Nano.

I already have the wall mount for the single toothpick.

I've got one of these myself, and yeah, I didn't wanna stick up the back of my iPad, so I got a cheap plastic case from Hong Kong and stuck it to that. It works quite well, and honestly, having the grippy thing on the back of the case gives me a little more to hold onto sometimes which is really pretty nice most of the time.

It doesn't glue to the back...it uses adhesive that is removable. I have one with about 6 different WallTab's around the house. The whole point is that its clear and you don't DRILL or NAIL so you can mount to your Kitchen cabinet or Fridge where you can actually use it w/o taking up space.

Um... I can do better than that. For $5 get a plate hanger (http://www.amazon.com/OOK-50471-Deluxe-Supports-10-Inch/dp/B000F5VWQ6/ref=sr_1_18?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1302798095&sr=1-18) and poof... you can put it anywhere you can drive a nail, it works with a wide array of cases, and is easy to remove from your ipad when you don't want it on there. Looks like the PadTab gets glued down to the back of your device... that's a no go for me.

The plate hanger will support up to 30 lbs, and works great. I've used it to hang my iPad from a kitchen cabinet knob while cooking....

Ok, I'm willing to glue a plastic tab onto my $$$ SubZero fridge with "high strength adhesive," but I'm NOT gluing some plastic gizmo onto the back of my iPad! Make the iPad mount something that clips or slips onto the iPad and I'll consider it.
