Concept case would turn your iPhone into a Leica

OK, so yes, this Leica i9 case for the iPhone 4 is still just a concept. You can't actually buy a case yet that fits around your iPhone and turns it into a Leica camera (though you can buy some nice lenses or an audio tape case). But this idea is just too cool to pass up. Outside of the standard retro charm of having a Leica attached to the back of your iPhone, the idea here is that you can use the iPhone's dock port to attach a high-quality premium camera to the back of your high-quality premium smartphone, enabling some really excellent mobile photography.
There's probably some technical magic that has to be worked here as well -- I don't know how feasible it is to have the dock hook up to and even control a high quality camera lens like this, especially with that design and size. But heck, if we can get the iCade made into a real product, this is certainly possible, right?

I think it is cool and want one. But at the same time, I feel like it is the bastardization of Leica, which is wrong, which wrongness makes it more alluring. LOL.
Maybe I will just save for a real Leica...
Great idea! But I've just butchered my mint M6 trying to shoe-horn my Nexus phone into the body. All was going well until I found out my M6 wouldn't power up the phone so I could see the images on the phone's screen. Anyone want a knackered M6 and Nexus phone, for spares only?
Should I have used an iPhone? Would it have been compatible?
The thing about Leica is they make good cameras. The iPhone isn't a good camera. This style with no substance.

Camera phones are great, but anyone who thinks they can compete with today's extremely sophisticated digital cameras is dreaming.

I think this modular concept needs to be expanded to more devices.
Check out the WIVL camera. Looks like an iPhone when the guy receives a call at the end of the video.

2nd, if the product comes to market, I hope it isn't as poor as the grammar on the website, which leaves a lot to be desired: "where" instead of "were"; "compliment" used in place of "complement".
Hmmm...
It's ugly though.
A sharp-edged black glossy case with an internal zoom lens, (The type found in ruggedized point-and-shoots,) but equiped with an awesome app that controls everything....
I'd buy it.
But not this.
But the concept of it is cool.
This completely goes against everything that is Leica.
