iPhoto updated to version 9.1.3

Not a week after the last update, iPhoto 9.1.3 is available via Software Update as well as on Apple's support site. The update is pretty thin -- it simply fixes an issue where split events could be merged back together. Still, it's recommended for users of iPhoto 11, so if you use that version, you might as well install it.

Enjoy!

I seriously cannot understand why Apple software updates are so big. You basically have to download the whole thing again. Does a single fix on event splitting really needs to be 760mb? Do all iOS minor updates need to be 660mb? That's ridiculous, but at least they're fixing stuff.

The article describes the problem backwards. The basic gist was this: if you imported photos from your camera/iPhone/whatever as a new event in iPhoto, then dragged those photos into an existing event, those photos would appear in the Photos tab of your iOS device in iTunes as multiple events with the same names. When syncing, those events would be listed as separate events on the device as well. So you would end up with multiple events with the same name and different photos in each one. It really was annoying. Glad it's fixed!

Really, they updated a version 2 back. Must have had a large school or something still using that iPhoto 9.x. In software years that's ancient unless you use XP :-)

I'm actually glad they came out with a fix for this so quickly. I have almost my entire iPhoto library on my iPad and this bug messed it all up. I ended up using an old version of iPhoto from my Time Machine backup to get it working again.

Regarding iOS,
I would love it if they fix the Photo's and Albums sort order when syncing to an iOS device.

Let's see.

Well this was a bug that a lot of people were bitching about, and this is the fix. When your event gets split into 30 events of 2-3 photos each, it is a pain to sync your pics to your device.

So if they deliver as promised what's not to love.
