Hex watch bands for iPod nano on pre-order now

Now that's a good looking nano watch. We've covered a few iPod nano watch bands before, but to me, they've always seemed kind of cheap and hinky, more hacks than things that you'd actually wear out and about. But I really like this new band from Hex Vision -- it's a stainless steel band with a solid clasp that hooks right up to your iPod nano with what the company calls a "Clip-in, clip-out system." It's a little pricey at US$69.95, but considering what you'd pay for a watch that looked like this and did everything the iPod nano does, that's not too bad.

The one thing that keeps me from pre-ordering one, though, is that we're set to see another revision of the nano pretty soon, and the rumors all say that it might lose the clip or gain a camera, depending on what you believe. That rumor aside, however, this seems like an excellent watch band that could be just what you're waiting for. If we do see a new nano soon, hopefully Hex will make the appropriate changes, and then I'll finally be able to Dick Tracy it up!

I love my wristjockey.com strap, which neither the Hex nor the LunaTik have anything on, despite being more expensive. Plus, having had it both ways, I prefer the buttons on top and the connectors on the bottom.

@kakapo: If you search you can find "anti-dust plug caps" for iPods and iPhones for under $1 in quantity. I get 'em from budgetgadgets.com; buy 5 to get the price break—they're miniscule and you're gonna lose a few.

I have a LunaTik Red and it is a great addition to my iPod Nano... my only concern with any of these watch bands is that they do not provide any way to prevent sweat (when running) or rain from EOLing the device! :(

I like this iteration, too. Nice "dress watch".

Cheers

I've had a LunaTik for a few months now. It's neither "cheap" nor "hinky" in my opinion. Actually, I regularly get compliments from strangers in lines and such.

I wear it every day and I love it. I use the pedometer to track my steps (part of my effort to be more active), and the cord the nano comes with is long enough that I can feed it up my sleeve and listen to it without worrying about catching the cord on anything.

I can't emphasize enough how convenient it is having a player on my wrist at all times. It's very convenient.

I don't think I can get behind the "wear an iPod nano as a watch" idea until it has Bluetooth capabilities. Once I can wear wireless headphones and actually listen to something on the nano without a cord going from my ears to my wrist I'll be sold.
