London Apple fans can watch the WWDC keynote and drink beer

That's it. I'm moving to London.

The London Mac User Group is meeting up at the Wood Marylebone NW1 Pub at 17:45 BST on Monday to watch the WWDC keynote, which sounds like a wonderful idea to me. What could be better than quaffing a pint or two, listening to "one more thing" from Steve Jobs, playing Keynote Rumor Bingo, and sitting down to a plate of curry?

To find out more about the festivities, visit the London Mac User Group Facebook page or go directly to the event listing here to RSVP. If anyone else is planning on a keynote watching party, use our handy new "Tip Us" button to let us know about it. And if you need a place to watch the keynote all by your lonesome, don't worry -- we at TUAW will be covering it and all of the news from it as usual, so you can come join us.

A tip of the TUAW bowler hat to Steve N.

What is the basis for thinking there will be a live feed?

For the really cruel out there, here's one: Steve Jobs may not have many more Keynotes left in him.

Hi

Firstly Steven Thank you for your article about a 'little event'. secondly you are right as apple have not announced the official streaming of the event yet, currently we are working on the back up plans, but either way I am sure it will be an amazing event.

Can I just say thank you to the bageltech network, whose podcasts have been supporting us all the way,http://www.bageltechnews.com/ - THANK YOU EWAN!!

If you are in london then please let me know if you are attending to help me manage the numbers.

We are really exicted to be hosting the event and look forward to some live WWDC bingo, beer drinking (good ales on tap), good thia curry and debating the keynote as it happens ( official video or not).

Please assist us by RT or adding to your facebook.

Thanks

Steve N London

I think they're assuming -- as most of us are -- that there will be a live feed from Apple. If not, at least they have access to booze and food...

Well, you start getting together at 17:30, so do not go home, go straight to the event. Initial round(s) of beers takes it to 19:30, when the food gets served. At 21:00 you check the Apple website or iTunes to see if the Keynote is available. Just about manage to hook up Macbook Pro to the large screen TV (some nerd always has the right cables, eh?) in the lounge away from the main pub, cheer/jeer depending on the state of inebriation.

Have another couple of beers because you've just worked out that you can't afford to upgrade, either because the bank manager isn't going to give you yet another loan for that extension you always wanted, or the missus has control over the account as she is saving for that extension she always wanted.

Suddenly realise you've wet your pants, but luckily everyone is wearing black jogging bottoms, and you know what they say about wetting yourself in a dark suit? You get a warm feeling all over but nobody notices.

Then everyone starts screaming: who's the designated driver today? No-one volunteers, so call black cabs (London taxi) -- get home about 02:00 and realise you haven't arranged to take the next day off work and start to cry.

Missus wacks you over the head with the broom and knocks you out. Now you've got this big lump on your head and you're chucking up last nights curry cause they served fresh vegetables from Germany and you've got a valid reason not to turn up for work for at least the next five days.

What a happy ending.

Ah, so that's what the "Tip Us" button is for. I assumed it was like a tip jar, to donate money to you guys.
